German racing driver Sebastian Vettel has become a celebrity in motorsport. Despite such a young age, he managed to win the title of Formula 1 champion four times.
Childhood
Sebastian hails from the German city of Heppenheim, where his biography began in 1987. The boy grew up in a large family, besides him there were two more sisters and a brother. In an interview, he admitted that he studied very badly at school, all his interests were occupied with music and the dream of becoming a singer. His childhood idols were: Jackson, Jordan and Schumacher. When the child realized that his vocal abilities left much to be desired, he decided to take up motorsport professionally.
First steps in sports
Vettel Sr. was the owner of the karting track and often took his children there. Young Sebastian started racing on the kart at the age of four and three years later took part in mini-races. The boy's talent was noticed by Michael Schumacher and took patronage over him.
The first victory of nine-year-old Sebastian was recorded at a competition in Wittenberg. Even then, they predicted a stellar career for him. The teenager got into the youth team "Red Bull", in which he became a four-time winner of the North Rhine. By 2002, Vettel became the best among juniors in Germany and Europe. His appearance in the 2003 BMW Formula was a success and further promotions. In the Formula 3 Euroseries, the newcomer took 5th place in the standings. The success did not satisfy the debutant and a year later he became the second. For tests in royal races, the athlete chose a Williams car. He came to the finish line second, but the disqualification of the winner gave him the right to lead the podium.
Formula 1
Sebastian was distinguished by incredible tenacity and desire to win. In 2006, he joined the team as a pilot at number three, and on free runs he often drove a racing car on his own, proving his professionalism.
In Formula 1, Vettel made his debut at the 2007 US Grand Prix. Replacing an injured colleague, Sebastian got behind the wheel and finished eighth. An athlete with great prospects was noticed at Red Bull. The correctness of their choice was confirmed by the 2008 competition in China, where the rider was fourth, and in Italy, where he won. The track turned out to be quite difficult after the rain, but this did not prevent the champion from demonstrating a beautiful ride and becoming the best. The next year was also marked by important victories, Sebastian repeatedly proved his skills.
In 2010, Vettel became the youngest Formula 1 champion and was named the best athlete in his country. In subsequent years, he won the title of the youngest two-, three- and four-time winner of the prestigious world race. Until 2014, the young man collaborated with Red Bull, but the next year he signed a contract with Ferrari.
How he lives now
The famous racer is reluctant to share the details of his personal life and carefully hides it from journalists. Among his friends, he is reputed to be a lover of parties. Relatives note his cheerful disposition and talent as a parodist. The athlete still loves music, his musical preference remains the repertoire of the 70s. Most of Sebastian's time is occupied by work, the rest of the time he loves outdoor activities: hiking, snowboarding and badminton, and is also a fan of the German football club "Eintracht". The champion restores the spent energy with sweets that he adores.
Officially, Vettel is not connected by family ties, but for many years Hanna Pratter has been his common-law wife. The couple had daughters Emily and Matilda.
Today Vettel lives in Switzerland and continues to show high sports results. All the champion's cars are unique, he gave each his name, but today the athlete dreams of a more powerful racing car and new victories.
