Vyacheslav Mikhailovich Kotenochkin is not just a director, animator and animator. This is a whole world that taught Soviet children not only common truths and morals, but some cunning and enterprise. Thanks to him, the world received unique heroes with a character, albeit funny, but goals.

Biography of Vyacheslav Kotenochkin

The future unique cartoonist was born in 1927. The boy grew up in a difficult time for the country, lost his father early, and the most vivid impression of his childhood was the Kremlin tree, where little Slava saw an animated film for the first time. The impression was so vivid that he could no longer think about anything and was determined to find out how such films are made, to learn this art and to shoot cartoons himself.

But fate decreed otherwise. The war began. Slava graduated from a specialized artillery school, then entered a tank school. But all this time he drew "drunkenly". Cartoons were his only serious hobby and even passion. As a result, in 1947 Vyacheslav Kotenochkin graduated from animation courses and began working as an artist at the Soyuzmultfilm studio.

Creativity in the life of Vyacheslav Kotenochkin

The work of Vyacheslav Mikhailovich cannot be called a career. Animation was his life. Very quickly, an animator-producer "grew up" from an animator with a funny surname Kotenochkin, and in 1962 Vyacheslav became a director and began to shoot his own animated films. His filmography includes not only cartoons - he shot satirical plots for "The Wick", played the role of a ferryman in the film "No Return" (1973), wrote scripts.

But it was the cartoons that brought the real glory to Kotenochkin:

  • "Gotcha Who Bite"
  • "Frog traveler",
  • "Bath",
  • "On the forest path" and others.

The triumph of Vyacheslav Kotenochkin's career was the animated series "Well, wait a minute." His characters were loved, quoted, waited for the release of each new series, and there were 20 of them in total. We can safely say that this is the first Soviet TV series, albeit in an animated version. Unfortunately, the last two episodes were no longer filmed by the Kotenochkin, and the audience noted a significant difference.

Personal life of Vyacheslav Kotenochkin

Vyacheslav Mikhailovich was married once - to the ballerina Vishneva Tamara. In marriage, two children were born - a son, Alexei, and a daughter, Natalya. The son continued his father's work - he shot two more episodes of "Well, wait a minute", but it was not possible to achieve success at his level. And the point is not at all the lack of talent in Alexei. The film's director himself and the leading actors who voiced the main characters have passed away.
