Ksenia Ryabinkina, who played the Swan princess in the film "The Tale of Tsar Saltan", became a star of Indian cinema, starring in Kapoor's film "My name is Clown". Postcards and souvenirs with her image were incredibly popular, but the actress chose a different career.
After the role of a Russian girl in Kapoor's painting, photographs of Ksenia Lvovna Ryabinkina were everywhere in India, souvenirs with her image instantly diverged. At home, the spectacular graceful actress played only one prominent role, the Swan Princess.
Road to fame
The biography of the future celebrity began in 1945. The girl was born in Moscow on September 4 in the family of a scientist and a ballerina. In the footsteps of her mother, Alexandra Tsabel, Ksenia's elder sister Elena began to study ballet. Following her, the youngest entered the choreographic school of the capital.
After graduation, the girl joined the troupe of the Bolshoi Theater. The film career began thanks to the occasion. In search of the heroine of a fairy-tale picture, director Alexander Ptushko turned to ballet dancers in 1965.
He needed a graceful and beautiful heroine who possessed considerable endurance: the shooting was supposed to be difficult. The director's daughter Natalya saw a suitable candidate: she offered the role of Ryabinkina.
Star role
For the first time, her daughter was accompanied by her mother, who knew absolutely nothing about the cinema world. The aspiring artist was very worried: she will have to play with the stars of Russian cinema. Despite the excitement, the girl coped with the task brilliantly.
After the starring role, the star received many offers. However, none of Ryabinkina's scripts liked. The artist was well aware that shooting did not affect her ballet career in the best way. She chose the theater, but after 4 years the girl received an offer, which she could not refuse.
Indian director and actor Raj Kapoor invited Ksenia to star in his film. The heroine of the artist was a Russian girl, a circus performer Marina. The star went to India. The picture was a huge success, and after the premiere, the performer turned into a real Indian movie star, recognized as the ideal of grace and beauty.
Ballet and cinema
The actress continued to dance. The soloist of the Bolshoi Theater almost did not act in films, appearing in only a few episodic roles. She arranged her personal life. The girl's chosen one was the translator Alexei Stychkin. The couple had a child in June 1974, a son, Eugene, later a famous actor.
In 2009, Ksenia Lvovna again received invitations to appear in India. In the picture of the sons of Kapoor "Chintu Ji" she again played a Russian heroine. Ryabinkina did not refuse the offer.
After completing filming, the star again took up only ballet. In 1994 she became Assistant Artistic Director of the Kremlin Ballet. The celebrity held the position until 2005. Currently, she teaches choreography at a private school, communicates with five grandchildren.
In the British film adaptation of the life of the famous dancer “Nureyev. White Raven in 2018 Ryabinkina played the role of Anna Ivanovna Udaltsova.
