Nike Borzov is a Soviet and Russian composer, singer and poet, one of the most famous personalities on the Russian rock scene. He loves to experiment with styles and arrangements, and still shock the audience with his rather scandalous compositions.
Biography
The author and performer of such well-known hits as "Horse" and "Riding a Star" was born on May 23, 1972 in the village of Vidnoye. His love for music was passed on to him from his father, a famous musician in narrow circles. Borzov's childhood was spent under TheBeatles, LedZeppelin and other legendary rock bands.
It is surprising that until the age of three the boy did not have a name, and his relatives called him exclusively "baby". There is a version that Nike is a pseudonym, but the musician himself claims that the name is real.
He was a difficult teenager. He preferred communication with friends and music to school. Parents tried to influence their child, but after another quarrel, the musician simply left home. Found him a couple of days later, in a friend's apartment, suffering from a hangover. In order to avoid a repetition of a similar situation, the guy was given complete freedom of action, provided that he would live at home. Thus, the school was completely forgotten.
Career
Nike formed his first rock band at the age of 14. "Infection", as they were called, was a direct synonym for the words rebellion and shocking. For 4 years of joint work, the guys released a couple of albums that did not go unnoticed.
In 1992, the musician began a solo career, changing the style of music from punk to psychedelic rock. His composition "Horse" caused a very mixed reaction. Some radio stations even banned broadcasting it on the air. They believed that Borzov was promoting drugs, as the song contained the line: "A horse carrying cocaine." The singer himself has repeatedly tried to clarify the meaning inherent in this song. He compares a person stuck in an endless cycle of home-work-home to a workhorse that depends on its obligations.
In 2000, he became the performer of the year according to the radio station "Maximum", and his fifth album, recorded in 2002, was immediately recognized as the record of the year.
In 2003, he starred in the play "Nirvana" and the production was a huge success, and in 2010 he released the film "The Observer", where the singer talks about his activities over the past few years. To this day, he is a popular musician and collects concert halls, despite the fact that his compositions have become more positive, and elegance has come to the place of outrageousness.
Personal life
Borzov prefers not to advertise his personal life. However, it is known that he was married to one of the members of the "Army" group, Ruslana Eremeeva. In 2003, the couple had a daughter, Victoria. At the moment, the musicians are divorced, but maintain friendly relations. Now Ruslana teaches at her own vocal school.
