In 1962, little Dima was born into the family of the Krasnoyarsk chemical engineer Alexander Khvorostovsky and the female doctor Lyudmila Khvorostovskaya. Despite the prestige of parenting professions, the growing Dima was not interested in either engineering or medicine. He was fond of music. Hvorostovsky's father sang well, and at the same time had an excellent command of the keyboard instrument. They often held family concerts at home.

The childhood of the singer

At the age of 4 Dmitry sang. His repertoire consisted of old romances and folk songs. Also in the house was a collection of records with performances by opera singers. It was decided that studying at school would be combined with learning to play the piano. The child was not known as a good student, since the school curriculum did not arouse much interest in him and was poorly given. Subsequently, throughout his life, he preferred not to talk about his school past.

Youthful years

After finishing school, Dmitry continued his education in the music department of the Krasnoyarsk Pedagogical University named after A. M. Gorky. For a while, the future opera star was fond of rock. Having tried himself as a soloist and keyboardist of a rock group, Dmitry Hvorostovsky received his first professional experience in Krasnoyarsk entertainment establishments. There were moments when studying at the school hung in the balance. But he changed his mind in time and successfully completed his studies, having received a diploma as a music teacher. Youth After college, Hvorostovsky continued his studies at the Krasnoyarsk Institute of Arts. Dmitry was a choirmaster, and the new teacher made him learn solo. Already by the third year Hvorostovsky and his teacher got along. Dmitry stopped missing classes. The institute was graduated in 1988.

Career takeoff

Hvorostovsky got a job at the Krasnoyarsk Opera and Ballet Theater. Career went "uphill", which was confirmed by victories at competitions of the All-Russian and All-Union scale. The singer's landmark was directed to the West. Dmitry understood that the main operatic fame would come to him thanks to European listeners. The debut took place in Nice and then continued in Toulouse. Then there was the capital of Wales - Cardiff. Dmitry became the first Russian singer to take part in this festival. World recognition has come.

Then Dmitry performed in New York. It was the Nice Opera and the famous Queen of Spades. The first contract was signed for recording at the Philips Classics studio with the singer's performance. Four years later, the opera soloist settled in London. He became a citizen of England. The career continued actively. Subsequently, he changed the recording company and signed a contract with the studio "Delos".

Dmitry always remembered about Russia. He came to his homeland on numerous tours. In 2015, it became known about the fatal illness of Hvorostovsky. Dmitry began an unsuccessful battle with brain cancer. He was sure that he would overcome the disease, but he was wrong. Dmitry Hvorostovsky died with his family in November 2017.
