"Sledgehammer" - such a nickname was awarded to the Russian boxer of the first heavy weight Dmitry Kudryashov. And he more than justifies his ring nickname. He has over 25 fights, 23 of which he finished by knockout. He literally "drives" the opponent into the ring floor.
Biography: childhood and adolescence
Dmitry Alexandrovich Kudryashov was born on October 26, 1985 in Volgodonsk, near Rostov-on-Don. In the first grade I went to school number 22. Then he became interested in sports. Parents brought Dmitry to the karate section when he was eight years old. Five years later, he was noticed by a fairly well-known boxing coach in Volgodonsk, Nikolai Timofeev. Even then, he brought up more than one generation of professional boxers.
So Kudryashov began to engage in the sports club "Olymp-2". An experienced coach was right when he bet on him. Dmitry progressed quickly and often won city and regional tournaments. A little later, he took up hand-to-hand combat.
Soon Dmitry moved to Michurinsk, which is famous for its strong boxing school. There he struck up an acquaintance with Yevgeny Melekhov. At that time, he was training another young talent - Artur Osipov. Subsequently, Melekhov became Dmitry's head coach.
Since 2004, Kudryashov performed in Rostov-on-Don, defending the colors of the Trudovye Rezervy club. Four years later he was drafted into the army. Dmitry paid his debt to the Motherland in the OBRON VV “Cobra” unit, which was stationed in the city of Kalach-na-Donu.
After the army he continued training in the ring. In 2011 he won the All-Russian Spartak Cup tournament. For this he received the title of Master of Sports. He has about 150 amateur fights. Dmitry lost only 12 matches. In the same year I decided to test myself in a professional ring.
Career
Kudryashov spent his first fight as a professional boxer on July 30, 2011. Dmitry appeared in the ring to the song "Kuvalda" by rapper Dima Stereo. The fight took place in the village of Kushchevskaya. His opponent, Ukrainian Alexander Okhrey, he famously put on his shoulder blades in the third round. Thus began the career of Kudryashov, whom experts hastened to dub the hope of Russian boxing.
This was followed by a series of victories. And all with a knockout. In the fall of 2012, Dmitry won the belt of the champion of the CIS and Slavic states according to the WBC version. A year later, he knocked out the famous Sean Cox, a boxer from Barbados. In October 2013, he became the GBU World Champion.
Dmitry did not know the bitterness of defeat until November 2015. Then he lost the fight to Nigerian Olanrevage Durodol. Kudryashov suffered his second defeat in September 2017. Then he lost to Cuban Junier Dorticos.
In parallel with his boxing career, Dmitry received a higher education. After graduating from the Don State Technical University (DSTU), he became an engineer. After graduation he worked as a "security officer" at the Rostov NPP.
Personal life
Dmitry Kudryashov is married. Has a daughter and a son. He tries not to advertise his personal life. His wife and children are present at almost every fight.
