Writing books for children is not an easy task. The writer needs to be talented and highly efficient. Eduard Uspensky possessed versatile abilities. He invented the characters of his stories and cartoons himself.

Childhood and youth

Some of the classics noticed that books for children need to be written with the same quality as for adults. Eduard Nikolayevich Uspensky once added that you need to write much better than for adults. He did not deviate a single step from this principle. That is why the children still like the heroes of his stories, songs and cartoons. The future writer was born on December 22, 1937 in the family of a party worker. Parents lived in the city of Yegoryevsk near Moscow. The father was engaged in agitation work with the population. Mother worked as an engineer at an engineering plant.

Edward was the second child of three growing up in the house. When he was ten years old, his father died tragically. The mother had to, as they say, stretch out with all her might to raise the children and give them a decent education. Edik was a mischievous boy in the lower grades. I studied somehow. But one day he broke his leg and was hospitalized. His sister brought him textbooks, and he began to study on his own. Returning to class, Ouspensky was among the best students. Mathematics became his favorite subject.

Creative way

At the same time, Ouspensky loved to study with children from the lower grades. He not only took his wards on excursions to museums and parks, but also composed songs, poems and plays for them. Having received a certificate of maturity, Eduard entered the Moscow Aviation Institute. Here he was immediately attracted to participate in the Club of the cheerful and resourceful. He wrote scripts, miniatures, dialogues and poetry. Somehow it turned out by itself that the talented student began to compose poetry, fairy tales and funny stories for children. After graduating from the institute, Uspensky worked for three years at the plant and went to "free bread".

The first book "The Adventures of Gena the Crocodile and His Friends" was published in 1966. Ouspensky worked hard and productively. His interludes, humoresques, poetic feuilletons were performed by honored pop artists. He collaborated with a cartoon studio for a long time. Crocodile Gena, Cheburashka and old woman Shapoklyak appeared on the TV screen in the early 70s. Then a series of cartoons about the village of Prostokvashino appeared. Ouspensky's works were translated into foreign languages and eagerly published abroad. He was even accepted into the Writers' Union of Sweden.

Recognition and privacy

Eduard Nikolayevich devoted a lot of time and effort to the creation of the television program “Ships were entering our harbor”. People in all corners of Russia watched it with pleasure. For his great contribution to the development of literature, the writer was awarded the Order of Merit to the Fatherland.

The writer's personal life was not very smooth. He tried to start a family three times. In the first marriage, a daughter was born. In recent years, Eduard Nikolaevich was seriously ill. Ouspensky died in August 2018.
