More than a hundred years ago, a "new type of party" was created. It is known to our contemporaries by the abbreviation KPSS. Of course, during its existence, the members of that same "new" party became bourgeois and lost interest in building a just society. Today, the Russian communists have once again rallied in the parliamentary structure and are trying to somehow protect the rights of the oppressed and disadvantaged. Yes, in modern Russia there are 22% of people who live below the poverty line. Who can protect their interests? And can this be done within the framework of the existing system? Deputy of the State Duma of the Russian Federation Nikolai Mikhailovich Kharitonov knows some answers to pressing questions.

Agrarian of the Siberian mix

In recent years, conversations about the food security of our country have become more and more frequent. The initiators are parliamentary structures and government departments. There are good reasons for such a discussion. The Russian Federation annually increases imports of palm oil and other food products. At one time, the Soviet Union fully provided the people with food. Yes, the normative calorie content of the diet was achieved at the expense of potatoes and bread, but there was not enough sausage. Today we have to import potatoes from Arab countries. State Duma Deputy Nikolai Mikhailovich Kharitonov considers the current situation extremely dangerous.

Kharitonov knows how to deal with agriculture firsthand. In the biography of the deputy, his entire career as a worker in the agricultural sector is clearly visible. Nikolai Mikhailovich was born on October 30, 1948 in a peasant family. Parents worked on a collective farm. Like any village child, from an early age he tried to help the elders with the housework. Chopping wood, putting water from a well was common. Such work was not burdensome. The boy did well at school. After the tenth grade, he entered the Rural Vocational School and received the qualification of “general mechanic”.

In 1967 he decided to get a specialized higher education and became a student of the Novosibirsk Agricultural Institute. Mother and father did not mind and were even glad that their Kolka was making a difficult but correct choice. The fact is that the entire territory of Siberia, including the Altai Territory and the Novosibirsk Region, belongs to the zone of risky farming. Drought, frost, heavy rains do not contribute to obtaining bountiful harvests. Nikolai Kharitonov knew all this, and he purposefully learned to be an agronomist. He studied and returned to work at the state farm "Bolshevik".

To run a large farm in the agrarian sector of the economy requires a strong character, flexible intellect and experience of country life. Nikolai Kharitonov took over as a state farm agronomist. Some skeptics did not miss an opportunity to teach the young specialist, and quoted him as a cruel joke: "It would rain, there would be thunder, and an agronomist is not needed." Of course, there is some truth in this joke, but negligible. Two years later, the agronomist becomes the director of the state farm and takes the farm to the first positions in the regional competition.

Restructuring and reconstruction

For eighteen years, Nikolai Mikhailovich Kharitonov was in charge of the state farm. The peculiarity of the enterprise was that it was located not far from the regional center. It was only possible to keep qualified specialists with a high salary and comfortable living conditions. The director spared no effort and money for the creation and development of the social structure. The school, the hospital, the stadium and the house of culture were built at the farm's own funds. It is interesting to note that the weather conditions at Kharitonov's farm have always been favorable. The grain harvest has never “gone under the snow”.

In the early 90s, when the situation in the economy began to change, the villagers, remembering Kharitonov's contribution to the development of the village, elected him a deputy of the Supreme Soviet of the RSFSR. The cataclysms on the political Olympus negatively affected the lower levels of the economy. The once famous state farm "Bolshevik" was transformed into Joint Stock Company "Galinskoe". The organizational procedures did not affect the productivity of vegetables and the productivity of the dairy herd for the better. Quite the opposite. People began to leave the village. Similar processes were observed throughout the country.

To slow down the destructive processes and change the situation in the countryside, the Agrarian Party of Russia was created in 1993. Nikolai Kharitonov takes an active part in organizational matters and becomes a deputy leader. Party building requires colossal efforts, time and financial resources. Agrarians are forced to block with the communists. When in October the situation around the White House, where the Supreme Soviet of the Russian Federation met, escalated, Nikolai Kharitonov organized the supply of food to the besieged deputies. He managed to avoid persecution for his courage and resourcefulness. Although he never concealed his views and preferences.

State Duma deputy

In the 1996 presidential elections, Nikolai Kharitonov supported the leader of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation Gennady Zyuganov with all his might. The governing bodies of the Agrarian Party considered this behavior to be incorrect and removed it from all governing bodies. Several years later, Kharitonov himself left the ranks of the Agrarians, due to the fact that the party began to support United Russia in everything. Working in the State Duma is exciting and addictive. Kharitonov is one of the oldest deputies. Since 1993, he has been working within the walls of the Russian parliament.

The personal life of Nikolai Kharitonov does not contain a single gyrus. He is married only once. The future husband and wife met during their student years. Over the past period, they have had four girls. Nikolai Mikhailovich loves his children, but does not want to attach them "out of acquaintance". They are smart girls and without his participation build their lives on a solid foundation of decency and moderation in consumption.
