Starting conditions

Long-term practice shows that playing sports forms a person's sense of purpose and willpower. In everyday life, these properties are called sports character, which helps to overcome various obstacles that arise on the path of life. Anna Igorevna Kharitonova was born on March 12, 1985 in an ordinary Soviet family. My father worked in a trucking company. Mother worked as a nanny in a kindergarten. A brother was already growing up in the house, who was only a year older. Naturally, my sister and brother grew up together.

Anya studied well at school. She was equally easily given both the exact and the humanities. Kharitonova's favorite subjects were history, literature and physical education. In the third grade, the girl enrolled in the judo and sambo section. It was from this moment that her ascent to the heights of fame and success began. The girl was faced with a serious task. It was necessary to combine study with training. Anna from an early age was distinguished by a serious approach to all matters and assignments. You cannot skip workouts. Get mediocre grades in school too. She had no free time for aimless walks through the streets.

Awards and achievements

Until the ninth grade, Kharitonova successfully combined study and training. Moreover, I managed to attend elective classes in mathematics and labor. I learned to crochet and knit very well. After the eighth grade, the promising athlete was transferred to the famous Moscow School of the Olympic Reserve. In 2000, Anna performed at the All-Russian judo tournament among schoolchildren and took first place. She was included in the national team. In 2002, the athlete received her secondary education, but did not have time to enter the university. Kharitonova was preparing to compete at the World Youth Championship. She performed and won a bronze medal.

Anna's sports career was quite successful. In 2007, she won a gold medal at the European Judo Championships, and secured a spot on the country's Olympic team. However, at the 2008 Olympics in Beijing, she performed unsuccessfully. Kharitonova experienced her defeat very hard. At certain moments, she wanted to quit this sport and go to a remote village. The athlete was able to cope with depression and return to the training process. She began to engage only in sambo wrestling. Already in 2010 she won first place at the Women's World Championship.

Recognition and privacy

In 2016, Kharitonova won silver at the World Championship and gold at the Russian Championship. For her great contribution to the development of Russian sports, Anna was awarded medals of the Order of Merit to the Fatherland, 1st and 2nd degree.

Anna's personal life turned out well. She is legally married. The husband and wife continue to play sports. Kharitonova graduated from the Faculty of Psychology at the Institute of Physical Education. She has a master's degree in physical education.
