Sergey Yurievich was born on January 12, 1962. His hometown is Moscow. Sergei graduated from school with a special study of English, studied at the music school, where he mastered the violin. Already in childhood, he was distinguished by a sense of humor, the ability to joke.
After school, Minaev studied at a circus school, studying pantomime. Later he was educated at GITIS (pop department).

In his student years, Minaev and his friends created a rock group "Gorod", where he was a soloist. The team took part in various events.
Sergey worked as a DJ, hosted discos in hotels "Molodezhnaya", "Intourist", Moscow Aviation Institute, earning good money. The young man had access to recordings of foreign performers. Minaev decided to make recordings of popular songs, making a translation into Russian. The compositions were performed by him, using the music of the originals.
The business turned out to be successful, in 1983 Sergei began to be considered the first disc jockey who sings perfectly. Many critics believe that some of the texts in Minaev's translation have become deeper in meaning.
In 1987, Sergei first performed at the Luzhniki arena, performing songs "Modern Talking", songs by Yuri Chernavsky. Minaev became popular, he began touring the country and abroad. At that time, his first clips appeared. In 1989, Minaev won in the "Musical Ring", the rivals were the musicians of the "Rondo" collective.
Over the years, the singer has recorded 20 albums, performed about 50 parodies. The songs are characterized by parodic use of everyday and song vocabulary. Until 1993, Sergei collaborated with Sergei Lisovsky.
Minaev also starred in the films "Night Fun", "Carnival Night 2" and some others. Sergei took part in the rock opera Jesus Christ Superstar, playing the role of Judas. The singer has recorded several compositions for the film "Island of the lost ships".

Sergey Yuryevich does not like questions about his personal life, he does not have accounts in social networks. His wife's name is Alena, they got married in 1992.
Alena is the sister of the wife of Vladimir Markin, a famous artist. She worked in Markin's team, but after the wedding she devoted herself to the family.
In 1995, the couple had a son, Sergei. He studies economics, is fond of music, created a rock band.
