Childhood and youth

Alexander Georgievich Filippenko was born on September 2, 1944 in Moscow, but he spent his childhood in the capital of Kazakhstan, where his parents went on a business trip, and so they stayed there. It was in Alma-Ata that Sasha "fell ill" with the theater - he enthusiastically studied in the drama club at the Palace of Pioneers, which did not prevent him from graduating from school with a gold medal.

The graduate dreamed of entering a theater university, but his parents insisted that he choose the engineering profession, prestigious in the 60s, and Alexander entered the Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology, where he received a specialty in Physics of Fast Processes. During his studies, Alexander actively participated in KVN, in 1963, together with his team, he became the champion of the club. The plastic guy was noticed and invited to the student theater of Moscow State University. After graduation, Alexander Filippenko worked at the Institute of Geochemistry, but did not leave the stage, and soon he was taken to the Taganka Drama and Comedy Theater, which was directed by Yuri Lyubimov. And this is despite the fact that Alexander did not have a special education at that time.

The actor did not ignore the cinema either. In total, Filippenko played in more than one hundred and twenty films. The directors were not afraid to trust him with a variety of roles - Filippenko with the same ease reincarnated as an English aristocrat, thief in law, police commissioner and Kashchei Bessmertny. And the actor twice participated in the film adaptation of The Master and Margarita: in the notorious film by Yuri Kara, he played Koroviev, in the series by Vladimir Bortko, he got the role of Azazello.

In recent years, Alexander Filippenko appears less and less on screens, agreeing only to those proposals that are truly interesting to him.
