Biography

Born in 1953 in the American town of Green Bay, Wisconsin. Was the ninth child of ten children of Joe and Helen Shalub. Tony's father emigrated from Lebanon at the age of nine, was engaged in the wholesale supply of meat. The mother, also of Lebanese descent, was a housewife, was engaged in raising children.

Tony became interested in the theater thanks to his older sister, who entered his name on the list of participants in the school theatrical performance. The boy liked to be on stage, he began to participate in all school performances. While studying at Green Bay East High School, he fell off the stage, receiving multiple fractures. But he quickly recovered and continued his acting career.

After graduating from school, he entered the University of Southern Maine, graduated with a bachelor's degree. He completed his studies in 1980 with a Master of Arts degree from the Yale School of Drama.

After graduating, he joins the American Repertory Theater and lives in Cambridge, Massachusetts. After playing four seasons with the troupe, he decides to leave for New York. He made his Broadway debut in The Odd Couple in 1985.

In 1986 he starred in the large-format film "Heartburn" in the small role of an airplane passenger. But the scene with his participation was cut. In the same year he starred in a cameo role in the television movie "The Equalizer".

Until 2002, he continued to act in films and television in cameo roles.

In 1992 he married actress Brooke Adams. In the future, he often participated with her in television projects, for example, Adams starred in several episodes of the series "Monk".

At the time of the wedding, Adams had an adopted daughter, Josie, later adopted by Shalub. In 1994, the couple adopted a second girl, Sophie.
