Biography

Virginia Madsen was born in Chicago in 1961. Her mother was a stage director, poet, playwright, TV presenter, and then finally switched to writing. The Madsen family came to America from Denmark, there are also Irish and Indians in their family - apparently connected with this is their extraordinary charisma.

From childhood, Virginia knew that she would become an actress, and when she watched films, she pretended to be her favorite heroines. She was not embarrassed by the fact that her eyes are of different colors due to a disease called heterochromia. Already at the age of 18, she played a role in the teenage comedy "Class" (1983), and the next year she got a role in "Electric Dreams", playing a cellist.

Film career

Madsen's first serious work was her role in the action movie Dune, where she was on the same stage with Kyle McLachlan, Yurgan Prokhnov, Francesca Annis. It was a wonderful acting experience. The next tape - the melodrama "Wedge by Wedge" added fame to the future actress and helped to advance her career. After that, famous directors began to invite her to their projects, and the films “The Long Way”, “The Creator”, “Dance of Death”, as well as the famous detective story “Moonlight” appeared in her portfolio.

The next decade was not very successful for Virginia - she received invitations only to TV shows, but did not refuse roles. Her best serials are considered the projects "Thieves of Extra Class", "Witches of the East End", "Star Trek: Voyager" and "Hell on Wheels".

In 1999, Virginia was finally able to work on the same set with her brother - they starred in the films "Trill of the Nightingale", where she played the main role and "Florentin" about a small town forgotten by God and people. Both films were warmly received by audiences.
