Biography
Daniel Coulter Reyolds was born on July 14, 1987 in Las Vegas, Nevada. He is one of nine children of Christina and Ronald Reynolds. The musician's parents belong to the Mormons (a religious movement prevalent in the United States). Traditionally, Mormon families have many children, so it is not surprising that the Reynolds family raised so many children, the seventh of whom was Dan Reynolds.
The family was musical and children began to learn music early. Like his eight siblings, Dan started taking game lessons at the age of 6. The boy was very talented, but he did not think about a career as a musician. Dan dreamed of working for the FBI. To make his dream come true, the guy went to college, where he organized his group with friends Wayne Sermon and Andrew Tolman. The guys played famous hits at parties and bars, and then began to write their own songs.
In 2008, the band won the university contests "Battle of the Groups" and "Got Talent", which prompted Dan Renolds to seriously think about a musical career. He came to the conclusion that he was not doing well in his studies and decided to drop out of college and take up music. In his interview, Dan Reynolds said that this decision was very difficult for him.
The band's big break happened in 2010, when the frontman of the "Train" group fell ill and the band was unable to perform at the "Bite of Las Vegas" festival. They were replaced by "Imagine Dragons" and won the "Best Indie Band of 2010" nomination by Las Vegas Weekly. The musicians also received an award for Best Record of 2011 from Vegas Seven magazine. And already in 2014 the team received the prestigious Grammy award.
Dan is also a gay rights advocate, organizer of the Loveloud Music Festival and the creator of the documentary film Believer, which premiered at the 2018 Sundance Film Festival. One of the "Imagine Dragons" songs, titled "It's Time", was featured on an episode of the TV show "Glee" when the series' protagonist Blaine sang the song to his boyfriend Kurt.
Musicians of the group "Imagine Dragons" are involved in charity work. In 2013, they created the Tyler Robinson Foundation to help children with cancer.
Personal life
In 2010, Reynolds, after the concert, met with Aja Volkman, the lead singer of the American rock band "Nico Vega". They co-recorded 4 tracks, which were featured on an album titled "Egyptian". And already in 2011, the lovers got married. 3 girls were born in the marriage: Arrow Eve and twins Gia James and Coco Rey. But the couple recently announced their divorce after 7 years of marriage.
