The entertaining series, which gather people around the TV screens and devastate the streets every day at the same time, are likely a thing of the past. They, of course, are watched now, but there is no such excitement as before. Only a few TV shows, such as Killer Women, are able to stir the feelings of the audience.
The Secret to the Success of Killer Women
Argentine serials in the 90s were very popular on Russian television. Argentinean 187-episode melodrama "Provincial", filmed in 1999, aroused great audience interest. The series is positive, it looked easy. And already in 2005, a new Argentinean TV series "Women Killers" was released, in the reviews of which they write: "Too scary scenes."
Film critics rate the series “Killer Women” as something new and innovative.
Nevertheless, this serial film immediately won the recognition of the audience. The secret of the success of the work of directors Daniel Barone and Diego Barrido is largely predetermined by the non-triviality of the film both in form and content, as well as by the excellent acting. For four seasons in a row, the series retained the attention of viewers, did not lower its rating and was recognized as one of the most successful detective series in Latin American television. Moreover, each episode was filmed in just 5 days, from Monday to Friday.
The plot of the series "Killer Women"
Each of the 78 episodes of the film is a complete and at the same time not very long story about a perfect murder. All plots were borrowed from the crime chronicle. Moreover, the killer in all episodes is a woman.
In most episodes, the main characters, who have picked up a knife, a bottle of poison, are ordinary women, such as can be seen everywhere around them.
As a rule, murders in the minds of people are not associated with women, therefore, from the very beginning, the viewer's attention is riveted to something unusual and incomprehensible. Moreover, not all the heroines of the film are insidious schemers who have long forgotten about home, family and work. All these women have only one thing in common - they went to the crime out of jealousy or in response to bullying, violence from their close men, fathers, husbands, lovers.
Each episode is named after the main character and is supplemented with a definition of what happened to her. So, the series "Patricia the Vengeful" is dedicated to a quiet girl, obsessed with the idea of revenge on her father. "Christina the Rebel" is a story about a woman working in the police. The world of corruption is pulling it in more and more, it degrades as a person and, as a result, goes to crime.
One of the episodes tells about the nun Martha Oder, who works in a nursing home. She meets the actress Martha Fernandez in church. The girls are friends and rent an apartment together. But one day, the intolerable nature of Fernandez forces a quiet, modest nun to take a knife in her hands and go to murder.
Naive girls, a nun, unexpectedly for everyone, commit the most terrible crime - murder. No less interest was aroused by the plot about the bloody tragedy in the family of the spouses who have been married for 40 years.
Terrible life situations, when city dwellers and provincials, old and young, kill their loved ones, as well as unpredictable plot moves, rivet the viewer's attention and make him look forward to the next episode, even though the plot of the episode is not connected in any way.
The characteristic of the series is its naturalism, which at times even shocks viewers. Nevertheless, this multi-part film attracts a lot of rave reviews. For example, such as: “I have never watched Mexican, Indian, Argentinean films, but after watching this series, I changed my mind. This one is worth watching!"
