Lorenzo Melgarejo is a famous footballer, flank midfielder of the Paraguayan national team and Spartak Moscow. Winner of the Russian Cup and champion of the country as part of the capital club.
Biography
The future footballer was born in the small Paraguayan town of Loma Grande, which is located near the capital of Asuncion. Lorenzo's family is large, except for him there are three more brothers and a sister in the family. From an early age, Melgarejo began to take an interest in football, but until the age of 14, Lorenzo was engaged in another sport, high jumping.
Career
At the age of 15, Lorenzo got into the children's team "October 12". At the age of 19, Lorenzo signed a professional contract with the same "October 12". He played 22 matches in the team and scored seven goals forgotten. In 2010 Melgarejo moved to the capital, to the Olimpia team. At the end of the season, Lorenzo decided not to leave the capital and moved to another capital club "Independiente". For Independiente, the midfielder had 14 matches and scored a goal six times.
In 2011 Lorenzo decided to leave for Europe, to Lisbon Benfica. But immediately Melgarejo did not become a player in the main team and was loaned to another Portuguese club, Pasos de Ferreira. The midfielder took part in 29 matches at Pasos and returned to Lisbon at the end of the season. In the camp of the “eagles” for the season, Lorenzo managed to gain a foothold in the squad, in the fall the midfielder made his debut in the main club tournament in Europe - the Champions League. In the 2012/2013 season, Lorenzo, together with the Lisbon team, became a Europa League finalist, but Melgarejo failed to win the trophy, Benfica was defeated by Chelsea. In total, the midfielder had 21 matches for Benfica.
In the fall of 2013, the midfielder unexpectedly decided to move to Russia, to the Kuban team. In the Krasnodar team, Melgarejo became a solid player in the first team, and became a finalist of the Russian Cup in the 2014/2015 season. At the beginning of 2016, problems with funding began in Kuban, the Krasnodar team turned from a team that fought for European cups into a team that is struggling to survive.
In the winter of 2016, the famous footballer decided to move to Moscow, to Spartak. Lorenzo has not yet succeeded in becoming a solid player in the base of the Muscovites, but Melgarejo became the champion of Russia with Spartak. At the moment, this is the only title won in a midfielder's career. The midfielder himself is distinguished on the field by his speed and quick decision-making. Lorenzo has been called up twice under the banner of the Paraguayan national team, but the midfielder has also failed to gain a foothold in the national team. There were rumors that Melgarejo wanted to take Russian citizenship, but these rumors remained at the level of conversations.

Lorenzo Melgarejo has a wife named Maria, a model who became Miss Paraguay. The couple had a daughter not long ago, the girl was named Samia.
