Biography

On June 26, 1968, the fourth child was born in the family of the famous Italian football defender Cesare Maldini, who was named Paolo. From an early age, the boy began to show a great interest in football and wanted to become a professional in this sport.

To decide on the future of the child, the elder Maldini put his son before a choice: the Milan academy or the Inter academy (both teams are based in Milan). The boy's choice was obvious, he wanted to follow in his father's footsteps and play for Milan. Already at the age of 10, Paolo became a player in the Milan youth team, in which he spent 7 fruitful years, after which the management of the famous club decided to transfer the prodigy to the main team.

As a professional football player, Paolo Maldini took place in 1985 in a Serie A match, at the same time setting a record - he became the youngest player ever to enter the field in the main championship of Italy. At that time he was sixteen years old, and so far no young athlete has been able to surpass Paolo in this achievement.

Starting next year, Maldini was firmly entrenched in the main squad of Milan, playing almost every match every season. Other players were guided by Paolo, and his will to win admired all the fans of the club. And therefore, since 1997, he became the permanent leader and captain of the team until the very end of his professional career as a player.

In total, Paolo played 902 matches for the Rossoneri and even scored 33 goals. Maldini became the champion of Italy many times and won various national cups. He is one of the few footballers to have won the Old World's most prestigious trophy, the Champions League Cup, five times.

National team

Unfortunately, Paolo Maldini cannot boast of great achievements at the level of national teams. Despite all the status of the Italian national team, Maldini never won anything in its composition. He first came out to defend the colors of his national team at the age of 19 in 1988 and played a total of 126 matches. Maldini retired internationally following the 2002 World Championships in Japan and Korea. During all this time, the famous Italian became a bronze medalist twice and a silver medalist twice.

He adores the kitchen of his mom, Louise Maria, and is proud to be able to continue the Maldini football dynasty.
