Ewan Bremner is an actor from Scotland. He is best known to audiences for his role as Daniel Murphy in the 1996 crime comedy Trainspotting and the role of Coco Bryce in 1998's Acid House.
Biography and career
Bremner was born in Edinburgh on January 23, 1972. His parents were teachers. Ewen was educated at Portobello High School. The scene from childhood attracted the future actor. First, he decided to become a circus clown, and then switched to show business.
Bremner was lucky enough to get the role of a schoolboy from Glasgow in Charles Gormley's Heavenly Pursuit. So in 1986 his career developed. Then he was invited to the full-length adaptation of "Dreams" by William McIlvanny. He got the lead role.
Personal life
Ewen carefully conceals his personal life. He dated Marcia Rose. They met in 1995 while filming the short drama Skinhead. Ewan played Billy in it. Bremner and Rose were not scheduled. In 1999, the couple had a daughter, Harmony. Now the actor is single. Ewen is an attentive and loving father.
His daughter followed in the footsteps of her parents. In 2016, she starred in the movie Carousel. This is a short film starring only Harmony and her father. Ewen, along with Call Weber, became the producer of the drama. Call also wrote and directed Carousel.
Filmography
In 2004, Bremner got one of the main roles in the fantastic action movie Alien vs. Predator. He played the scientist Graeme Miller. Colin Samon, Sena Lathan, Lance Henriksen, Raul Bova became his partners. This is not to say that this horror film received recognition. In 2005, he was awarded more than one award as the worst film of the year.
In 2009, he starred in the fantasy miniseries Day of the Triffids alongside actors such as Dougray Scott, Joely Richardson, Eddie Izzard and Brian Cox. Bremner got the role of Walter. This drama paints the viewers a post-apocalyptic picture, where people are blinded, and predatory plants threaten all living things.
Ewen landed a role in the acclaimed Woody Allen's You Will Meet a Mysterious Stranger. The leading roles in the drama were performed by such movie stars as Josh Brolin, Anthony Hopkins and Naomi Watts. Bremner played Henry Strangler. In 2011, Bremner could be seen alongside Ewan McGregor, Eva Green and Connie Nielsen in the film Last Love on Earth. This fantastic drama was directed by David Mackenzie. Bremner played James, the main character's partner.
Ewen's next big work took place in 2012 in Dickens's adaptation of Great Expectations. He played Uemik. Helena Bonham Carter as Miss Havisham, Ralph Fiennes as Magwitch, Jeremy Irwin as Pip, Jason Fleming as Blacksmith Joe Gargery, and Sally Hawkins as Mrs. Joe were his co-stars on the set.
