Sergei Kharchenko is a Soviet theater and film actor. He was awarded the title of Honored Artist of the Ukrainian SSR and People's Artist of the RSFSR. Also, the actor is the owner of the Order of the Badge of Honor, which he received in 1974.
Biography and career
Sergey Vasilyevich Kharchenko was born on September 1, 1923 in Moscow, and died on September 19, 1995 at the age of 72. He was educated at the Theater School named after M. S. Schepkin. Sergei took part in productions of the Theater of the Carpathian Military District, and then worked at the Maly Theater. Kharchenko has more than 30 film roles.

In 1975, Sergei Vasilievich played Karp in the play by A. N. Ostrovsky "Forest" by A. N. Ostrovsky. The play was directed by Igor Ilyinsky. Then he took part in the performance of M. Tsarev "Living Corpse" based on the work of L. N. Tolstoy. He got the role of an old gypsy. In 1977 Sergei Kharchenko got the role of a deputy in the play "Yarovaya Love" by K. A. Trenev. The production was directed by Pyotr Fomenko. In 1986, director Vitaly Ivanov invited Sergei to the role of Prostakov in the play by D. I. Fonvizin "The Minor".
Filmography and creativity
Kharchenko's first film role took place in 1966. He played in the television drama of Mark Orlov "Trouble has come to the city." The plot revolves around the purple pox epidemic. The main roles in the film were played by Daniil Ilchenko, Georgy Kulikov, Kira Golovko and Tamara Korolyuk. The following year, he played a funeral director in the detective comedy Missing Official. The action takes place in the European capital. A corpse is found at the landfill and they are trying to find out the identity of the deceased and the circumstances of his death.
In 1967, Alexander Proshkin offered Sergei the role of an inspector in the drama "The Accident at the Hotel". Another small role of the owner of the bakery went to Kharchenko in the film "Across Russia". The film is based on the autobiographical stories of Maxim Gorky. Then Sergei starred in the military melodrama "Liberation: Arc of Fire". In this drama, he got the role of Vatutin.
