Biography

Zach Galifianakis is Greek by nationality, he was born on October 1, 1969. His father was a simple salesman, and his mother worked at an acting school. Even in early childhood, the boy decided for himself that he wanted to become an actor. Parents dreamed that their son, following the example of the famous uncle, would choose a career as a politician. Zak was an active child and attended all kinds of sections: he played football, joined the ranks of the Boy Scouts and tried to do amateur performances.

Despite all his complexes, the future actor loved to joke and entertain friends and acquaintances. After completing his studies at school, he decided to go to the city of great opportunity - New York to become famous.

Career

Everything turned out to be not as simple as the future actor imagined. Lack of prospects, a rented apartment in a dysfunctional area, nasty neighbors - all this put a lot of pressure on Zach. When the dream of becoming an actor seemed completely unrealizable, he accidentally ended up in Time Square, where he periodically began to give short performances in the genre of stand-up comedy. His performances did not go unnoticed, and in 1999 he made his TV debut. The aspiring comedian was immediately invited to several cameo roles in television series.

From 2003 to 2005, he took part in the filming of the television series "Bring Back from the Dead". And in 2006 he began to produce his own show "A dog bites a man", a feature of the program was that everything that happened was filmed in a pseudo-documentary format.

Director Todd Phillips invited him to play the role of stupid tyrant Alan in The Hangover (in Russian translation - "Hangover in Vegas"). The film turned out to be super popular, grossing more than $ 450 million worldwide, and Zach's character instantly fell in love with the audience. The sequel was not long in coming and two more films were later filmed.
