The young artist was first known for an advertisement for a shoe company, in which he depicted a shoe with painted blots. But the real success came to him thanks to the painting "Green Bottles of Coca-Cola". Andy Warhol considered his best work to be Campbell's Soup Can. It all started with a single image, then a whole series of works appeared, where the image of a popular brand of soup was repeated from 32 to 200 times. The artist explained his love for the constant reproduction of such objects by the fact that he prefers to work with what he likes. He actually loved Campbell's soups and ate them straight out of the can. After the artist's death, the painting, in which he reproduced a large can with a can opener, was sold for $ 24 million.

Warhol did not ignore such a familiar and, undoubtedly, popular among the general public, a thing like a one-dollar bill. To date, his work "192 Dollar Bills" is valued at more than $ 40 million.

However, the artist depicted not only money and food. One of the main themes of his work was the images of pop culture idols, including Elizabeth Taylor, Elvis Presley and Jim Morrison. However, the most famous was his "Marilyn Diptych", created in the year of the death of the actress. The painting contains many black and white images of Marilyn, side by side with roughly colored ones. In such a strange way, Warhol shows the appearance of death that haunted a movie star. Now the painting is in the London Tate Gallery, along with the works of recognized classics of world painting.

Among the favorite characters of Warhol were world-famous politicians. One of his later works is called "Red Lenin". Until recently, the painting was in the private collection of Boris Berezovsky. After the ruin, the oligarch had to sell it. The painting was acquired by another collector, paying nearly 170 thousand dollars.
