Shooting a movie is always an exciting process. Many of us have already filmed some sketches, short films, or recorded everything while traveling, and then edited it.
Now we need to figure out how to make this process more efficient.
It is necessary
- - Telephone
- - Camera (or friends with a camera)
- - Sound recorder
- - Light
- - Tripod
- - A computer
Instructions
Step 1
Idea creation, scoping and team search
First you need to decide on the idea of the film. What will your new film be about? Then you need to answer the questions: Who will be filmed in it? Who will be on the crew? Where will the filming take place?
You need to call all your familiar actors, sound engineers, screenwriters, editors, cameramen, artists (if there are no such people, then find those who have the ability for one of these professions) tell them about your idea and invite them to participate in your project. You can also hire someone for money.
Create a list of people who have agreed to participate.
Step 2
Script writing and budgeting
Now that you have involved a lot of people, you have a big responsibility on your shoulders for the future of the project. You need a good script. This can be done by yourself, if you have the skills, or you can give the opportunity to do it to a professional. The main thing is that the script should be compiled accurately and understood by the actors and the director (There are also special programs for writing scripts)
Then, budget for the movie. Indicate all the costs that are planned in the project: equipment rental (light, sound, cameras), transportation of your film crew, meals, etc.
Important! Even if you are making a film at zero cost, you still need to provide food and transportation for your entire group. Firstly, so that they are with you all the time and do not slow down the filming, and secondly, so that they have a desire to participate in your future projects.
Step 3
Casting
When you already know what characters you need to shoot. You need to find the right actors. Casting is best done by 2 people (man and woman) so that the selection of actors is as objective as possible. Always take a phone number at the end of the casting. Even if the actor is not suitable for the current film, he or she may be useful to you for the next one.
Step 4
Filming
Storyboard all the scenes you intend to shoot. Create a filming log - filming dates for specific scenes to reduce transportation costs and so that the actors can schedule their own as they can be filming in another film at the same time. Use the best sound and light equipment you can afford. This will allow your painting to look professional. Always shoot with a tripod if it is an amateur camera, the weight is light and therefore there is a lot of unwanted shaking, which makes the film an amateur.
End the last day of filming with a small party as a thank you for the hard work of all the crew members.
Step 5
Installation
Now turn your movie into a finished work: Glue the necessary scenes, remove unnecessary ones, add dialogues, noises and, of course, a soundtrack. It will set the basic tone for the whole film, so you need to pay special attention to it.
Now translate the movie into the format you need
Step 6
Distribution
The film is ready and can be shown to the audience. Can be posted on Youtube, Vimeo. In addition, you can apply for participation in festivals that can be searched on the Internet, for example, one systematic site for finding festivals: www.filmfestivals.ru
