Step 1
First of all, decide on the purpose of the camp, its concept, format and theme. Decide whether it will be a training, health, sports, tourist, military, ecological or recreation camp (this list can be supplemented and replenished). Remember to think about your personal goals as well. What do you yourself want to get from organizing and conducting the camp? Perhaps you want to grow new staff for yourself, earn or hone your professional skills.
Step 2
Recruit a team of organizers. First, it should be a creative group of several people, which will deal with the development of the program and all organizational issues. Then this group can be supplemented if more people are needed for the camp.
Step 3
Describe how you see the participants in your camp: what gender and age they are, what knowledge and skills they have, where they live, what they do. Think about the coverage of the territory (organization / enterprise / educational institution, city, region, country, several countries). If necessary, define the criteria for the selection of participants.
Step 4
Now, based on the goal, concept, format and theme of the camp and the characteristics of the participants, decide on the venue. Decide what the living conditions and the level of comfort you will need for the activities within the camp should be.
Step 5
Decide on the duration of the camp, develop its detailed program, draw up a schedule for each day (general - for participants and more detailed - for organizers). Think over all organizational issues, issues related to accommodation, meals, transportation of participants.
Step 6
Determine the items and the amount of expenses. Choose a funding source, it will largely depend on the purpose and format of the camp and the characteristics of the participants. There may be the following options: sponsorship funds, funds of an organization / enterprise / educational institution, funds from the city / region budget, funds of public associations, a grant, registration fees of participants.
