Biography
The life of the future musician began at the end of May 1943 in the UK, the city of Glasgow. Jack's real name is John Simon. From childhood, the boy liked the art of music, already at an early age he played the piano well. One of his favorite hobbies was visiting the local choir, in which he trained his vocal pronunciation.
In preschool, he really wanted to master the art of playing the bass guitar, but due to his lack of growth, Jack had to be content with the cello. Only in high school did the young man begin to fulfill his long-standing desire - he mastered the guitar for playing in the bass range.
After receiving secondary education, the guy decided to enter a music institute in his hometown. Having studied literally a year, Jack realized that this creative direction does not appeal to him.
The conservatory taught classical music, the peculiarity of the performance of which is slowness, calmness. But the soul of the young man lay in more modern and rhythmic musical offshoots.
Musical career
Bruce's first performances took place in the capital of Italy, where he masterfully mastered the double bass and performed jazz compositions. This trip greatly changed the guy's attitude to music: after that, he realized that he wanted to completely connect his life with the art of guitar.
Returning home in 1963, Jack made the decision to join an aspiring group called the Graham Bond Organization. The guys performed diligently in Glasgow, but did not find any feedback from the audience. It was decided to disband the team. In addition to this musical composition, for three years the young guy wandered around unknown groups in order to find popularity.
In 1966, Bruce was lucky: he was accepted into the famous musical composition of three, called Cream. In addition to Jack, the trio included Ginger Baker and Eric Clapton.
The guitarists played for several years, but the group suddenly disbanded due to internal quarrels. Despite the tense atmosphere in the team, the tracks of these musicians gained fame. The guys even managed to catch up with the popularity of the leaders of the European "chart" of that time.
Personal life
Jack's first marriage was completed a year before his majority. The couple did not stay together for long, and soon parted. The child was taken away from the guy. In 1964, Janet Godfrey became his wife, for 9 years in their life together they had two children.
Further activities
Until the 90s, Jack Bruce tried to regain his popularity, he took part in various trios, released solo albums. Judging by the numerous reviews, the rock artist's creativity gradually "faded" and lost its previous level.
Finally, in 2003, More Jack Than Gold came out - the latest collection of music by the experienced musician. He also did not attract any excitement and went almost unnoticed by the average listener. In 2014, Jack passed away at the age of 71 due to liver problems that have plagued him for 11 years.
