Many elderly people dream about the title of "Labor Veteran". Firstly, because of the prestige, because for people of the older generation, the award of an honorary title is not an empty phrase. Secondly, the status of a labor veteran gives its owner certain benefits. Unfortunately, not everyone who applies for this title receives a positive response from the social security authorities. Different regions of the country have different requirements for documents submitted for the title of "Veteran of Labor".
Instructions
Step 1
Check to see if you have the required Lifetime Achievements to become a Veteran of Labor. According to Article 7 of the Federal Law of 12.01.1995, No. 5-FZ "On Veterans" and its additional edition of 02.01.2000, No. 40-FZ, the title "Veteran of Labor" can be awarded if a person has orders and medals of the USSR or Russian honorary titles of federal significance, departmental insignia. Please note that awards and certificates of regional, regional and local significance are not considered. At the same time, the total length of service of a man must be at least 25 years, and that of a woman must be at least 20 years.
Step 2
Contact the department of social protection of the population at your place of residence and clarify what requirements for obtaining the title of "Veteran of Labor" exist in your area or region. So, somewhere the marks of distinction in labor received for rationalizing inventions are accepted for consideration, somewhere they are not. The situation is the same with the Honorary Donors. In some regions, the government adds its own to the main list of required documents; a social security specialist will tell you a list of them.
Step 3
Collect the package of documents with which you will go to the department of social protection of the population. This package, in addition to all the necessary certificates and other awards, should include your work record book, passport. On the spot, you will be asked to write an application for the title of "Veteran of Labor" in the prescribed form. All documents will be sent for consideration to the executive authority of the Russian Federation.
Step 4
Wait for an official response, it should be in any case. If you refuse, you or the social security agency will receive a notification explaining why such a decision was made. In case of a positive outcome of the case, the social security specialist will present you with a certificate of a labor veteran. Sometimes such awards are held in a solemn atmosphere, in the presence of the top officials of the city or region.
