A native of the capital of our Motherland and a native of a great artistic family (father - Anatoly Dmitrievich Papanov, and mother - Nadezhda Yuryevna Karataeva), despite the desire of her parents to avoid their creative fate, she was firm in her intention to become the successor of the great dynasty. On November 20, 1954, the future actress was born in Moscow. From the very childhood, the girl showed excellent artistic talent, being actively engaged in figure skating and attending the drama club at school. With her parents, she began to fully live as one family already at the age of fifteen, when it was already necessary to accurately determine the future profession.
Despite the persuasion of parents not to follow in their footsteps, Elena, after receiving a certificate of secondary education, made an unsuccessful attempt to enter the Moscow Art Theater School. However, the failure in the second round of exams did not become fatal, because Anatoly Papanov saw in his daughter a sense of purpose and a great desire to achieve his goal. Hiring a tutor and giving his daughter a fatherly blessing, he created all the conditions for his own child to successfully enter GITIS on the course of V. Andreev.
After graduating from a theater university in 1976, Papanova, heeding her father's instructions, did not begin to be assigned to the Theater of Satire, where he worked, but became a member of the troupe of the Yermolova Theater. It was he who became for the actress to this day a creative home, where she revealed herself as a talented theatrical actress.

Elena Papanova's only marriage with classmate Yuri Titov got its start in the diploma work of both graduates "As you like it", where aspiring artists played a couple in love. The immersion in the characters was so deep that after that their whirlwind romance began, which later grew into the creation of a family.
