Step 1
A person could receive this title during work, but it was possible to take advantage of the relying benefits only when going on a well-deserved rest. There are services provided free of charge. Citizens who have been awarded the title of veteran of labor are entitled to free dental prosthetics, repair of dentures, provided that they are not made of precious metals or cermets. But they can receive the service only in those dental clinics or offices to which they are assigned at the place of permanent registration.

It does not matter in which locality a labor veteran lives, he has the right to use passenger transport free of charge anywhere within the state. Taxis are an exception. Any intercity and suburban routes are also available to him.
Step 3
A number of part-time services are also available. A labor veteran can purchase a reduced-price ticket for half the cost of water and rail transport when seasonal fares apply.
Step 4
The beneficiary pays half of the tariff for the living space occupied by him and his family, if it is a communal apartment, the veteran will pay only for the occupied area. The discount applies only to the area that is due to the beneficiary and his family members within the social norm.
Step 5
The labor veteran pays for utilities at a reduced rate only for himself, this benefit does not apply to family members living together. This includes: water supply and sewerage, energy, heat and electricity, gas, television antenna, solid waste disposal. For the veteran, these benefits will be established regardless of the type of ownership of the dwelling.
Step 6
Since the law on monetization was adopted, in 2011 the title of labor veteran was no longer awarded to citizens. Those who managed to receive it before the onset of 2005, retain all benefits and compensations in full, which were provided for them earlier. Nobody else is included in this category of beneficiaries.
Step 7
Administration officials can establish various types of benefits for their residents. For example, in Moscow, the city budget pays a small monthly allowance from the budget. Free travel on commuter trains is also provided. In St. Petersburg, it is possible for holders of this title to purchase a ticket at a discounted price for all types of ground transport, plus a similar ticket for the metro.
