On December 25, 1973, the future actress was born in Leningrad (now St. Petersburg). Because of the "nomadic" profession of her father, the family often changed their place of residence, and therefore, until the age of fifteen, Irina grew up in the Far East. Then the family returned to their hometown. In childhood and adolescence, Sotikova showed artistic inclinations, engaging in amateur school circles and developing her choreographic and vocal skills.
After receiving a certificate of secondary education, she entered the St. Petersburg Academy of Theater Arts (workshop of V. V. Petrov), which she graduated in 1996. Since 1995 and until now, Irina Sotikova has been a member of the troupe of the Akimov Comedy Theater in the city on the Neva.
