Biography
Mikhail was born on July 1, 1964. In elementary school he entered a music school, studied to play the piano. But after a while he abandoned her to play sports. The last four classes were engaged in freestyle wrestling, despite the fact that there was a clear understanding that he would not become an athlete. He returned to music only as a teenager. The young man, without the participation of teachers, learned to play the guitar and began to actively compose songs.
After graduating from high school, Mikhail embarked on a difficult path of self-determination. I tried to study at a vocational school, but very quickly realized that this occupation did not suit him. Having dropped out of school, the young man submits documents to a jazz school, decides to become a drummer. In the first year, together with his friend Kostya Makarov, he created the Paradise Chicks group. The company performed in various teenage clubs. After two years, the group ceased to exist.
For some time, Mikhail worked as a blacksmith, but he had to stop such a labor activity, since he had to protect his hands for the guitar. He also worked as an artist in a cinema, at the radio station "Radio Baltic".
There was a period when the musician was actively involved in advertising. They were chocolates, Alice shops. He worked on the commercials himself.
Musical career
Mikhail said in an interview that he began writing poetry and music at the age of 15. Since the beginning of the 80s of the last century, he played in many bands. Even at the stage of training at the school, the young man gets a job at the Palace of Culture. Kirov. He is engaged in editing, selection of music for short films. Some of them are shot according to their own scripts.
At the studio he meets the artist Vladimir Dukharin. This meeting became fateful for the young man. Mikhail actively begins to engage in German classical philosophy, painting and self-education. In 1987 the Triskster group was created. She's getting popular. Bass-guitarist Mikhail Dubov and accordion-saxophonist Pavel Kashin gradually got into it. By 1990, the group changed its name to "Spirits".
After an excellent performance of the group at the seventh rock festival, the touring activity begins. The stage design was done by Vladimir Dukharin. In 1990, the first vinyl album "Happiness" was recorded, which was quickly sold out. After Pavel Kashin left, the team tried to stay afloat, but over time the group broke up.
In 1998, the Bashakov Band group was created on the basis of the Calypso Blues Band jazz group. The composition changed periodically, but at the very beginning it included:

- Alexey Emelyanov - bass guitar;
- Victor Bolotov - drums;
- Konstantin Utkin - keys, button accordion, accordion;

The song "Alice" begins to enjoy special popularity. Thanks to this, a new group was created. Another reason for her appearance was her acquaintance with the singer and songwriter Anastasia Makarova. The new line-up debuted in 2000. Concerts were often held in St. Petersburg and Moscow. Mikhail managed to take part in the meetings of the creative community "Mighty Handful".
Family and outlook on life
Mikhail Bashakov has a wife and children. In one of the interviews, Mikhail said that another wedding offered his future wife Anna to be baptized, but she refused. An important stage on this path was the acquaintance with Father Anthony. After that, Anna and three common children were baptized. The names of the children are Egor, Artem and Polina.
The family lives in the same apartment where Mikhail lived with his parents since the age of three. There used to be a communal apartment in that house. Only many years later, the family managed to buy out the neighboring area, re-equip the housing to their liking.
The path to the church itself was difficult, Mikhail considers himself Orthodox. You can meet him in the temple of Adrian and Natalia in Satro-Panovo. Several years ago, the musician with other bands gave a concert in support of the temple. The money was needed to restore it. Michael believes that you need to resist evil and death, but at the same time accept life.
Several times Bashakov tried to quit music, but because of this he became very bad. In his opinion: "Removing creativity is like pulling out the spine." Mikhail also loves to write poetry. He believes that this is a mysterious process that can take from a few minutes to many years. He also has a work that has been written for more than three years.
In one of the interviews, a question was asked about whether it is true that some poems are written with the help of encyclopedias. Mikhail replied that sometimes there really is a need to clarify information or compare something. This is especially true for esoteric books and historical references.
Mikhail Bashakov continues to go on tour, does not refuse to perform at various meetings. He is the author of over ten music albums and two collections of poetry. Halls at his concerts are always full. It does not depend on whether he is on tour in Russia, Europe or Canada.
