Born in a small town in the Leningrad Region, Nina (1929-04-09) was the second child in a family with four children - 2 girls and 2 boys. The town of Luga is located near the Estonian border, where a large number of Estonians, who became almost Russian, lived in those years. Among them was the girl's father, Nikolai, who served in the ranks of the NKVD. By the nature of the service of the head of the family, by the beginning of the war, being in the rank of major, the family often changed their place of residence.
So they ended up in Daugavpils, where they were forced to live in the territory occupied by the Nazis. The 11-year-old girl knew firsthand what war was. The family survived only thanks to the decency of the neighbors, who did not betray the military family. A woman-janitor saved from raids - she hid the children in the basement so that they would not be taken to Germany, from starvation - my mother's work in a bakery. Little Nina secretly went to church and prayed for her relatives. The war did not take anyone away, but the feeling of grief from it remained for life.
In the post-war years, already in his native Luga, his studies continued. Everyone at school knew "Ninka the artist". She took part in all school activities: she played the guitar, sang, read poetry and prose, took part in scenes.
A 20-year-old girl who had just graduated from a secondary school course immediately applied to several educational institutions in Leningrad: to the Polytechnic, to the pedagogical institute and, just in case, to the locksmith's school. One more copy of the certificate remained in my hands. With her she went to the theater. But, alas, it was already the third round. Something attracted the curator of the recruiting course in a naive girl who asked if artists were made here. Nina was auditioned and admitted to the institute.
Theatre
According to the distribution, after graduating from the university, Nina Urgant got into the Yaroslavl Theater. Thanks to her abilities, she was not kept in secondary roles for long; after several productions, the young actress was already getting used to the images of the main characters. But my soul yearned for Leningrad, for the big stage. Less than a year later, her dream came true - Nina becomes an artist of Lenkom, where her talent under the guidance of the famous director Tovstonogov is revealed with renewed vigor.
Huge temperament, skilful construction of images, vivid play bring her the title of Honored Artist seven years after her first appearance on the stage. It happened in the 60th year.
And two years later, the famous actress accepts the invitation and starts working at the Academic Drama Theater (now Alexandriyka). She immediately falls into the maelstrom of events and roles: the main characters of the performances, 4-5 premieres a year. Together with her, famous artists appeared on the stage: Tolubeev, Cherkasov, Simonov. The entire repertoire of the theater was based on it. The award for brilliant stage performance was in 74th year the title of People's Artist.
Movie
The path to cinema was not quick, but many happy moments happened. The first film role of Urgant was the windy Olga in "Tiger Tamer" (1954). Then there were seven years of inactivity in the cinema.
In 62, the actress played her first major role in the film "Introduction". She was able to add touching notes to the negative, in general, character. The work earned her a prize for the female lead at the Venice Film Festival.
On the set, the artist behaved very organically, easily improvised within the image written out by the screenwriter, had the ability to repeat episodes without losing inspiration.
During her long creative life, Nina Nikolaevna starred in more than fifty films. But the main film, which brought wide fame and national love, was "Belorusskiy Vokzal" with a song that instantly amazed millions of viewers. Now, probably, no one will remember that the heroine appeared on the screen only in the last shots, the role was so episodic.
Personal life
Nina Urgant was married three times. In the first, student, family with colleague Lev Milinder, the son Andrei was born - the only child of the actress. Not forgiving adultery, the young wife left, taking her son with her.
With Gennady Voropaev, Nina's greatest love, they were separated by alcohol. The relationship broke up when there was no longer either the strength or the desire to endure.
The marriage with Cyril Lascari has outlived itself, the couple parted after seven years of marriage without a shadow of regret.
