From biography

Gerasimov Nikolai Nikolaevich was born in 1956 in the village of Klyuchi, Kostroma region. The family also had two younger brothers. The boy loved books and countryside. He was considered the pride of the school. The class teacher and poet Vladimir Leonovich, in his school description, wrote about him as a person whose desire was to "lift the heaviest burden." He prompted a young schoolboy to write poetry.

N. Gerasimov liked to study at Moscow State University. He was involved in athletics, was an activist in all university activities. In his senior years, he alone at the faculty received a Lenin scholarship.

He could have stayed in graduate school, but preferred Vorkuta. He wrote a dissertation on the Parnokskoe ferromanganese deposit.

From geologist to minister

N. Gerasimov's working career, which began as an ordinary geologist, brought him to the government of the Komi Republic.

N. Gerasimov in the 90s restored the geological industry after its collapse. Deputy ministers called him a professional "walking encyclopedia." He knew how to captivate specialists with an idea and together implement any tasks.

N. Gerasimov was involved in the Belkomur program, according to which the Arkhangelsk-Solikamsk railway through Syktyvkar should be built. In recent years, he worked in the government. I was especially concerned about the state of the miners' Inta. He wanted to talk about how it was possible to solve the problems of city residents, but did not have time … After an operation on his heart, he died in 2018 - at the age of 63.

The cultural engine of the Arctic

The cultural life of the Arctic around Gerasimov did not fade away. He was considered his own man in libraries, in the troupe of the Vorkuta theater, in the bard club "Ballada". In his apartment, gatherings were often held and songs and poems sounded.

In the early 90s, it was decided to publish a literary almanac of geologists in Komi. N. Gerasimov voluntarily assumed the burden of compiling and preparing it for publication. The 18th issue has already been published. He was interested in doing literary work himself and helping others publish books.

N. Gerasimov proposed to create a book about how mineral deposits were discovered in Komi, about his friends and veterans. He collected the material himself and attracted many with this business. The book is collected, it remains to arrange and publish it.

In addition to the wealth of the subsoil, we need a placer of words

N. Gerasimov read a lot and was engaged in poetry. His poems enjoyed success in the geological environment, because they are filled with memories of the time spent on expeditions, the difficult roads of a geologist, friendship, love, and mountains. He was called a romantic poet. And this despite the fact that he was a representative of the official government.

As of 01.01.2014, it is known that only 8 people lived in the village of Klyuchi, Petretsovsky rural settlement, where N. Gerasimov was born. In the poem, the author writes about his small homeland, where he visited. It is surrounded by deep forests. An old ruined church, an unkempt cemetery. It is good that we met, but the bereavement will never leave the heart. As well as the pain of villages disappearing everywhere.

The poem begins with a colloquial questioning phrase and an appeal to a fellow geologist. And sadness does not suit a man. Let him look at the beauty around him. The male profession of a geologist has been chosen, and geologists will be at their best - both literally and figuratively. Here they feel like kings, free birds. And let other pessimistic feelings go away. They will not catch up with the geologists.

What can be seen in the early morning not by a city pedestrian, but by a provincial one. What Nikolay Gerasimov could see, being a geologist, mountaineer. A steamer sailing along the river, the sunrise, a dormant village on the shore, a bright temple. All this is eternal, all this is always - no matter how many years a person lives. The thought of eternity is central to the poem. There will always be a new season, a new morning, a new day. And traces of people, even if they cool down quickly, will still be there.

From personal life

He was married with two children. He was a kind and caring father and husband. His friend Nikolai Lapshin, with whom he worked in the geological team, recalled how N. Gerasimov, after the route he had traveled, ran 20 kilometers to the station where the geologists had a base, and his future wife Olga came there. And in the morning, when he returned, he again went out on the route.

It's not a shame to die

The acquaintance of the Moscow poet Andrei Shiroglazov with N. Gerasimov took place in Vorkuta. The poet needed an expensive operation. Nikolai Nikolaevich found out that Andrei's wife was looking for funds, and without further ado helped.

In his small homeland, he ordered bells for the church, which he helped to restore. Once he shared his feelings with A. Shiroglazov, telling him a case from his life. He walked across the field to the village. There was fog, silence all around, and suddenly I heard the bells and realized that it was no longer a shame to die.

The lepta contributed by N. Gerasimov to the development of the geological industry and, in general, to the economy of the Komi Republic is significant. He went down in the history of the region as an active, intelligent, talented and responsive person, and a good memory of him will always live on.
