Meral Okay came up with the name of the series without difficulty. The difficulties were that everyone refused to participate in the project, which seemed unrealistic and very expensive for Turkey. Indeed, Meral and Timur were horrified when they first calculated the required budget for the series. But the difficulties did not stop them, and they continued to prepare for filming.

The writers did a great job every day. There are very few historical facts about the time of the reign of Suleiman the Magnificent, they were collected bit by bit. Some of the historical details in the series have been changed - to add effect or to create intrigue.

The scenery for the TV series "The Magnificent Age" is 5000 square meters - this is the scenery of the Istanbul Topkana Palace, which recreates the real decoration of the chambers of the great sultans and their concubines. Some of the filming yards have been built outdoors and cover an additional 3,000 square meters. For street filming, the scenery of one of the oldest quarters of Istanbul was built.

The directors of the series - Yagmur and Durul Taylany - are famous in Turkey, they have more than ten films on their account. After reading the script by Meral Okay, they became interested in the project, advising Timur Savji to come up with his own image for each character with gorgeous costumes. This is how a huge sewing workshop appeared, where outfits for the heroes of the “Magnificent Century.

The main roles in the series are played by actors Halit Ergench and Meryem Uzerli. There were no problems with the role of the Sultan - the courageous and handsome Turkish actor Halit Ergench was ideal for the role of the ruler of the Turkish Empire. But for the role of the Slavic concubine Alexandra Lisovskaya, who later became the legal wife of Suleiman - Khyurrem Sultan, they could not find an actress for a long time.
Timur Savdzhi was lucky to find the red-haired beast Meryem Uzerli quite by accident - talking on the phone with his Berlin girlfriend, he complained that he could not find an actress, and she advised him by Meryem.
