Exactly 25 years ago, Yolanda Cristina Gigliotti, whom the whole world knows under the stage name Delilah, tragically passed away. She was the number one star of the French stage, had fans all over the world, sang in French, Italian, Arabic, Spanish, Flemish, English, German and Japanese. Her repertoire was about two thousand songs.

Step 1
Tragedies have always lived alongside her triumph. She was a fatal woman for her men and became her for herself. Delilah was born in 1933 to an Italian family who lived in Egypt. As a child, she underwent unsuccessful eye surgery, which resulted in her squint. Nevertheless, this did not prevent her from winning the Miss Egypt contest at the age of eighteen. After this victory, she starred in several films, after which she moved to Paris to become the diva of French pop music there.
Step 2
Her first husband, director of the radio station "Europe 1" Lucien Maurice, shot himself, unable to come to terms with their separation. Even before, Luigi Tenco, the beloved man of Delilah, shot himself, with whom they sang a song at the San Remo festival and failed without reaching the final. She could not bear the tragedy and took a lethal dose of barbiturates. She lay in a coma for almost four days, but the doctors managed to save Delilah. For nine years she lived with the artist Richard Champhre, better known under the pseudonym Count Saint-Germain. Two years after their separation, Chamfre suffocated from exhaust fumes in his car.

All these years, Dalida's popularity has grown. Her songs took first places in the charts of many countries of the world. In 1981, the premiere of her performance took place at Olympia, where Delilah was presented with a diamond disc for 80 million discs with her songs sold around the world.
Step 4
But personal tragedies constantly haunted the star. At the dawn of her career, she had an unsuccessful abortion, which forever deprived Delilah of motherhood. After the third death of her man, the press labeled her as a "black widow." She underwent two more complex operations on her eyes, after which the bright light of the searchlights began to bring unbearable pain. Delilah had to drastically cut back on stage performances.
Step 5
Permanent depression gradually developed, which led to the decision to die. On the night of May 2–3, 1987, Fam Fatal washed down a fatal dose of sleeping pills with whiskey. During the funeral, all of Paris came to say goodbye to the legend. In the French capital, Dalida was erected a monument and a square was named after her.
