Many people know about the existence of a legend about the great and powerful Atlantis, which about 12 thousand years ago disappeared from the face of the earth in one night. As the ancient Greek philosopher Plato argued about two thousand years ago, an island located in the Atlantic Ocean disappeared in the depths of sea waters along with its inhabitants. Since then, numerous researchers have been searching in vain for the mysterious continent, putting forward more and more new hypotheses of its location.
Many scientists disagree with Plato's version that Atlantis was in the Atlantic Ocean. So, the famous atlantologist Flem-At proposes to start searching for the sunken continent in Antarctica. This choice is not accidental. As a result of careful many years of research, which were based on the words of Plato himself that from the island you can easily get to other islands, and from them to the mainland, bordered by the true ocean, the scientist came to this conclusion. Flem-At was especially alarmed by the fact that Plato called the "sea" from the side of the Strait of Gibraltar "a bay with a narrow passage."
Flem-At did not understand why Plato called this sea a "bay". Probably, as the scientist reasoned, the "true ocean" was so large that the sea could be called a bay. But then the "true" Atlantic Ocean could not be, since it is surrounded by land on all sides and it is not connected with other water expanses of the globe.
The researcher decided to find an ocean that would meet the definition of "true". The atlantologist took the globe removed from the axis and began to rotate it: when Antarctica appeared in front of his eyes, Flem-Ata was pierced by an amazing guess. After all, if you look at the world through the ice-covered land of Antarctica, you will notice that the Atlantic, Pacific and Indian oceans, merging, and form the very "true" ocean.
In addition, the dimensions of the ocean, indicated by Plato, coincided with the dimensions that Antarctica had at that time. This version is also supported by the fact that Atlantis was a mountainous area and rose high above sea level, while the height of Antarctica above sea level is 2000 meters. Therefore, Flem-At proposes to search for Atlantis in Antarctica, believing that the mainland is under a layer of ice.
There are other versions of the location of Atlantis, considering precisely the seabed. In 1968, while flying home in his own plane, an American noticed strange stone structures under the transparent waters of the ocean. He immediately recalled the prediction of the great seer Edgar Cayce that it was at this time in this place that the mysterious Atlantis would be discovered. This is how the Bimini road became widely known - two parallel tracks under water, paved with slabs. Nobody knows where this road leads. The local population considers it an integral part of the Bimini Islands.
Scientists are conducting research on the Bimini road, interesting signs have already been found that may indicate the proximity of the solution to the mystery of Atlantis. During scuba diving in this area, scuba divers found round and square powerful platforms, columns and dolmens at the bottom of the ocean. In samples of ocean soil taken from this place, the remains of river shells and continental plants were found. In addition, scuba diver Valentine found the ruins of a temple, which are about 12-14 thousand years old.
