The population of the Earth is growing every day. At the same time, the needs of people are also growing. In today's world, humanity does more harm than good to the environment. One of the most pressing problems is waste disposal. The easiest way is to create a landfill.
Instructions
Step 1
The step-by-step creation of a landfill consists of several main points: the choice of an alternative - processing and burial, the choice of a place (landfill), a method of waste disposal, maintenance of the landfill in proper condition.
Step 2
Keep in mind that in the modern world, a landfill is more than just taking waste to a designated place. This is their maximum use as secondary raw materials, fertilizers and, ultimately, burial as the remains of an unused product. The ideal option is a processing plant and a landfill or quarry on the same site.
Step 3
The choice of a location for a legal landfill should take into account, first of all, the distance from the city limits. It is at least 100 km from the city. It should not be located near water bodies of different origins, in places of occurrence of natural resources. In other words - in places with which a person can contact.
Step 4
Be sure to develop a land use project and receive a State Act for the right to use land allocated for a landfill.
Step 5
The ideal solution for a landfill location is a former natural resource quarry. If there is none, then a polygon, which is a ravine with a clay bottom, is also a good choice. Groundwater should be at a depth of at least 2 meters.
Step 6
The surface of the landfill must make the landfill safe for the environment, i.e. prevent contact with soil and groundwater. For insulation, durable polyethylene, synthetic plastic, clay soils are used. A drainage system for collecting filtrate and a drainage tray should also be provided.
Step 7
Consider how much airspace there will be at the range. The duration of use of the landfill depends on this. Use heavy machinery to compact fresh debris. First, a layer of fresh debris is poured, then a layer of soil and so on until a dense coating is formed. All this is done in small sections until the polygon is completely filled.
Step 8
Consider the installation of ventilation holes to regulate the movement of gases formed during decay. A prerequisite is the creation of a fence to retain light fractions of waste.
Step 9
In addition to all the requirements for the correct organization of the landfill, ensure control over the accounting and reception of waste. Monitor the state of the landfill; at intervals of 10 days, inspect the territories adjacent to the landfill. Clean if necessary.
