Valery Bure is a famous Russian hockey player, one of the best in post-Soviet Russia. After completing his career, he devoted his life to his family and his favorite business - winemaking.
Valery Vladimirovich Bure was born in 1974. He is three years younger than his brother Paul. The hockey player's father is a four-time Olympic medalist and a multiple champion of the USSR, his grandfather is a swimming coach Valery Bure. A sports career in such a family was a foregone conclusion. Despite the heavy workload, the father devoted a lot of time to children. The guys grew up restless, so they were tried in several sports at the same time. The children played football well, swam, but later they preferred hockey. At home they were kept in austerity, the only way it was possible to direct the activity of the boys into a peaceful channel.
Sports career
Valery began his professional career at CSKA. Then, due to low wages in the country, he followed his brother to the Western Hockey League. He played for many hockey clubs: Montreal Canadiens, Calgary Flames, Florida Panthers, Dallas Stars and others. During his hockey career, he received serious injuries to his leg and back, underwent surgery, because of which he could not always play. In 2004 he finished his professional career.
He won many awards: Olympic silver in 1998, bronze in 2002, participated in the 1994 World Cup. Has a state award - Honored Master of Sports of Russia (1998).
Family and personal life
Valery Bure got married quite early, at the age of 22. The wife is Candice Cameron. The family has three children: Natasha, Lev and Maxim Bure. After completing his sports career in 2002, Valery accepted US citizenship, where he permanently resides, unlike his famous brother, who renounced US citizenship.
Candice is an accomplished actress and producer. Now she works in television. Valery loves his family very much, devotes a lot of time to children. While the boys were little, he trained daily with them on the ice. The daughter followed in the footsteps of her mother, successfully tried herself as a model, it is possible that over time she will act in films.
Now Valery has his own small wine-making business. The whole family lives in Los Angeles, they have their own vineyards. The former athlete has invested a lot of money and energy in the small business Bure Family Wines, which was originally just a hobby, and then turned into a very successful business. The production is small, producing elite wines: Majesty Blend, Nuit Blanche and Duration, which are in great demand. Less than 1000 bottles are produced per year.
The company's logo was a modified image of the emblem of the great-grandfather Bure, who was a watchmaker under the Russian tsar (his work was revived by Pavel Bure). Now the logo of the wine company looks like this: a two-headed eagle holding a hockey stick in one of its paws.
