Starting conditions

The Dynamo Kiev forward was born on November 5, 1952 in a sports family. Parents lived in Kiev. My father was the head of the Federation of the Soviet Union in modern pentathlon. Mother, master of sports in athletics, was engaged in long jump and pentathlon. The boy grew up strong-willed, collected and physically strong. Most of the time his mother worked with him. Preparing him for a professional career in sports. Oleg showed good results in short-distance running during his school years. But the boy was attracted to playing football.

When Oleg was nine years old, he enrolled in the children's football section, which operated under the Dynamo club. It was not easy to get there. But Blokhin passed all the tests, and began to train seriously. For several years he played for the club's youth team. In November 1969, Blokhin entered the field for the first time as part of the main team of Dynamo Kiev. Analysts noted the progress of the player. In a short period of time, he worked out the technique of ball possession and mastered the tactics of the game. Oleg, thin in build, easily outplayed more massive opponents.

In the professional league

At the 1972 Olympic Games in Munich, the USSR national team took third place. Blokhin scored six goals in this tournament. In the 1973 season, Blokhin was recognized as the best footballer of the Soviet Union. Possessing a bright gaming personality, Oleg remained team members and clearly interact with his partners. Accordingly, they, knowing the high-speed qualities of the attacker, tried to give him a timely pass, so that he would quickly break through to someone else's goal. At the European Cup tournament, in a game with Bayern Munich, Oleg Blokhin scored the only goal, using a worked out scheme. When the Bavarians arrived in Kiev with the return match, Blokhin had already “hammered” two goals into the gates of Bavaria. Dynamo Kiev brilliantly won the European Cup in 1975. In the same season, he received the honorary European prize "Golden Ball". In the summer of 1989, Blokhin played his final match. After completing his player career, he worked as a coach for many years. In this field, he had impressive successes, but there were also failures.

The personal life of a football player

Oleg Vladimirovich Blokhin was married twice. First wife - Irina Deryugina, multiple world champion in rhythmic gymnastics. They had a daughter. Everything was fine in the house, but after almost twenty years the couple separated. The second family was created by the star of Soviet football in adulthood. He was already "under fifty." The wife, named Angela, turned out to be 16 years younger. She is far from sports and show business. The family has already grown up two daughters. Currently, despite his health problems, Blokhin not only writes his memoirs, but also does not abandon attempts to engage in coaching.
