Step 1

The climate of the northern part of Africa for several millennia BC, when the ancient Egyptian civilization began to develop, almost did not differ from the modern one. For most of the year, intense heat reigned on the deserted banks of the Nile, so men wore only loincloths, and women wore light, translucent dresses with a long skirt, the slit of which reached the very hip. Nevertheless, it was considered indecent to leave the house without jewelry - rings on fingers, several rows of bracelets on hands, beads, wigs. Despite the heat, wigs were worn always and everywhere, they were used by both men and women, fake hairstyles were decorated with jewelry and incense.

Step 2

The morning ritual of every ancient Egyptian consisted of the obligatory washing in a special basin - "shauti". Then they rinsed their mouths with water and salt, then put on wigs and jewelry. Noble Egyptians preened themselves with the help of their servants, among whom were hairdressers, incense specialists and even make-up artists - not only women, but also men often turned their eyes with special colored powders. This was done not only for beauty, such makeup protected the eyes and eyelids from the bright sun and insect bites.

Step 3

The ancient Egyptians ate quite a variety of foods, with meat, fruits and vegetables on their tables. The inhabitants of Ancient Egypt were engaged in breeding chickens, geese and ducks, cattle were kept as sacrificial animals, which were eaten on holidays. Most of the meat was hunted. There were few fish in the diet of the ancient Egyptians, since fishing was considered a very dangerous industry due to the large number of crocodiles in the Nile. Vegetables and fruits were necessarily present in the menu of any Egyptian, both poor and noble. Garlic, bananas and melons were especially prized. The poor ate papyrus stalks, while the rich could afford the rare peaches, cherries and pears. The most valuable food for all segments of the population is bread and pies with various fillings.

Step 4

The main occupation of the ancient Egyptians was agriculture, several millennia BC they invented a system of irrigation of fields, which made it possible to increase the yield of dry and deserted Egyptian land. The Egyptians also engaged in gardening, grew grapes, mined gold, stone, copper, weaved, produced papyrus, made pottery and traded with the inhabitants of the Aegean islands.
