According to the Law on Georgian Citizenship of March 25, 1993, in order to obtain Georgian citizenship, you must have lived in the territory of Georgia for the last 10 years, know the state language, history and legislation of Georgia, have real estate or work. It is necessary

Instructions
Step 1
Write an application for citizenship. If you are outside the country, you can do this at the diplomatic mission of Georgia, consular office. Contact the Ministry of Justice directly in Georgia. You can use the online service for submitting documents for obtaining citizenship. Register on the website and fill out the required forms. Attach scanned documents to your completed application. Print the application itself, sign it and send it by mail to the Civil Registry Agency with copies of the documents. After reviewing the documents, you will be notified of the next steps. The cost of this procedure will be about $ 150.
Step 2
Take an exam on the knowledge of the state language, history and legislation of Georgia. The test results will be attached to your personal file. You may also be required to write your autobiography in Georgian. If you are already a citizen of a country, write a renunciation of citizenship. Georgian law does not support dual citizenship.
Step 3
Pay the state duty of the established amount.
Step 4
Collect additional documents if you want to obtain citizenship on the basis of marriage with a citizen or citizen of Georgia: marriage certificate, spouse's passport, confirmation of cohabitation (extract from the passport office, house book). You can apply for citizenship on the basis of marriage after 3 years of residence in Georgia.
Step 5
Warn your close relatives that they may be invited to clarify, clarify and obtain information about you, especially if you are outside Georgia. They can also provide missing documents on your behalf.
Step 6
Expect a decision on your question. Within 6-12 months you will receive a notification of obtaining citizenship.
