Obtaining Georgian citizenship is not easy. However, in order to abandon it, you need to go through a number of procedures and be patient. In order not to lengthen the period for consideration of the application, be careful when collecting and processing documents. If the required paper is not enough, the process of revoking citizenship may be suspended.
It is necessary

- - birth certificate of children;
- - certificate of name change;
- - a certificate from the military registration and enlistment office;
- - permission from parents (for minors);
- - money to pay the fee.
Instructions
Step 1
Collect the required documents. Take a copy of your passport, ID or birth certificate. Get a certificate of absence of utility bills and other debts. If you changed your last name or first name, please attach a copy of your supporting document. Men will need a certificate from the military registration and enlistment office certifying that they are not called up for military service, and minors will need a written consent from their parents or guardians. Attach two 3 by 4 cm photographs and a receipt confirming payment of the state fee to the package of documents.
Step 2
A complete list of required documents can be found at the Department of Citizenship and Immigration Department of the Ministry of Justice. There you will also receive a form for application for renunciation of citizenship. It is drawn up in the name of the President of Georgia. Attach a package of documents to the application and hand it over to the Department staff. Specify how long your case will be considered.
Step 3
The Department will verify the authenticity of your documents, clarify whether you have been prosecuted and whether there is an enforceable court order against you. If there is none, and you do not have unfulfilled property and other obligations, your citizenship will be canceled after the issuance of the president's order.
Step 4
After receiving confirmation of the cancellation of citizenship, hand over your passports - both civil and foreign. If you need to leave the country, get a certificate stating that you are not a citizen of Georgia.
Step 5
If you are abroad, contact the Georgian Embassy. Fill out the application in the prescribed form, attach copies of documents to it.
