Mikhail Leonidovich Khazin was born on May 5, 1962 in a family of scientists and teachers. My father was in charge of a laboratory at the Institute of Applied Mathematical Methods in the structure of the Academy of Sciences. Mother lectured on higher mathematics to students of technical universities. A child from an early age grew and developed in a prosperous environment. He had the opportunity to observe with his own eyes how junior and senior researchers live, what goals they set for themselves and what they dream about. It is quite natural that Mikhail strove to follow his father's example. When the time came, he was sent to a school with an in-depth study of mathematics. Khazin studied well. Having received a certificate of maturity, he entered the Faculty of Mechanics and Mathematics of the Yaroslavl State University. After the second year, he transferred to his native Moscow State University and received a higher education diploma in the specialty "statistician".
Khazin's scientific career began at the famous Institute of Physical Chemistry. For five years he was engaged in calculations and creation of mathematical models of unstable systems.
