People's Artist of the Russian Federation Gennady Leonidovich Bortnik was born on April 1, 1939 in an ordinary Soviet family. The child was brought up according to generally accepted traditions. Prepared for an independent life. They taught me to work. My father served as a military pilot. The man was tough and determined. For the time being, the situation in the house was balanced by the mother. But when the boy turned seven years old, his mother died suddenly. Undoubtedly, early orphanhood left an imprint on the character and views of Gennady.
Bortnik studied well at school. At an early age, he developed a talent for drawing. He could draw a cartoon on any person with two or three strokes. For friendly caricatures of teachers, he was, as they say, flied more than once. And yet - he studied with great pleasure in the drama circle. Gennady was going to get an appropriate education and engage in art. However, the father insisted that the teenager enter an industrial technical school. Nothing good came of this venture.
In theater and cinema
There is a page in Bortnik's biography that he recalls with nostalgia. He spent several months at the famous Trinity-Sergius Lavra. He calmly engaged in creative work - he painted icons. This skill came in handy when he worked in the theater. But the time came, and Gennady entered the Moscow Art Theater School. As a student, the young man watched how famous and little-known actors live. The texture of the bee keeper was noticed immediately. They noticed they began to attract to participate in performances.
The career of the young actor developed quite successfully. He was lucky to work with Faina Ranevskaya and Lyubov Orlova. This experience is worth a lot. Bortnik brilliantly played the role of Raskolnikov in the play "Petersburg Dreams". It was his finest hour. Gennady was soon invited to tour France. And they not only invited, but also offered a very decent engagement. But to the bone, the Russian Gena gratefully refused. In St. Petersburg he had cats, which he could not abandon.
Private life
According to the objective laws of nature, the love of viewers and fans persists as long as the actor regularly appears on stage or on the set. In 1997, the director Zavadsky, the main mentor of the actor, passed away. From that moment on, Bortnik's star of luck began to roll. And the personal life of a popular artist did not work out.
In his youth, Gennady could not find himself a worthy wife. Although very attractive women revolved around the handsome man. And at the end of his life, Bortnik had already lost his value as a husband. Filming him became less frequent. Young and ambitious guys appeared in the theater. Roles were no longer enough for the old people. Gennady Bortnik died on March 24, 2007 from a heart failure.
