Khizri Shikhsaidov is a politician of the old school. He began his career in the distant 70s as an agronomist in his native Dagestan. Subsequently, he held significant posts in the bodies of the party and state. He is known as a firm and consistent leader who does not indulge his subordinates. In recent years, Khizri Shikhsaidov has successfully led the supreme legislative body of Dagestan.
From the biography of Khizri Shikhsaidov
The future Russian politician was born in the city of Buinaksk (Dagestan) on August 1, 1947. He is a Kumyk by nationality. His father and elder brother, whom Khizri considered the second father, had a great influence on the formation of Shikhsaidov's personality. It was the brother who insisted that Khizri do military service, which he considered a school of discipline and courage.
Even during his school years, Khizri decided to connect his life with agriculture. Having received a good secondary education, he entered the Dagestan Agricultural Institute, from which he graduated in 1970. After graduation, he worked as an agronomist in the Buinaksky district of his native Dagestan, and then took the position of chief agronomist of the Markovsky state farm, which was part of the Dagvino production association.
For a long time, the young man was attracted by social work. In 1982, Shikhsaidov graduated from the higher party school in Rostov. After that, he held significant positions in party bodies and at agricultural enterprises in Dagestan. Khizri Isaevich headed the Agropromkhimiya association, was one of the leaders of the State Committee for Nature Protection. The experience gained in those years was very useful to the future leader of the Dagestani parliament.
New times
New times began, perestroika was emerging in the country. From 1985 to 1995 Shikhsaidov was a deputy of the Supreme Soviet of the republic. At the same time he headed the republican corporation "Dagvino". Thanks to the efforts of Khizri Isaevich, winemaking, a previously unprofitable industry in Dagestan, which inept business executives ruined after the collapse of the USSR, revived and gained strength again.
Since 1995, Shikhsaidov has combined his fruitful work as a member of the People's Assembly of Dagestan with the post of head of the Accounts Chamber of the republic.
In the summer of 1997, another appointment took place: Shikhsaidov begins to lead the Government of Dagestan, while at the same time performing the duties of deputy head of the State Council of the republic.
In subsequent years, Shikhsaidov's political career reached a different level: in 2007 he was elected a member of the Russian parliament, where he worked until 2013.
From the winter of 2013 to the present, Khizri Shikhsaidov has headed the People's Assembly of his native republic. He is also a member of the supreme governing bodies of United Russia.
The Dagestani politician is married, together with his wife he raised four children.
Khizri Isaevich most of all appreciates the strength of tribal foundations, focus on the result of any work. From an early age he taught himself to work with full dedication. He was taught from childhood that the authority of the leader and the attitude of people towards him entirely depend on the result of work.
