Talent does not bring happiness to a person. Natural abilities only set the vector of movement in life's orbit. Arthur Makarov managed to do little in his short life. He has written several books. He starred in several films.
Childhood and youth
At one time, this man was well known in literary and cinematographic circles. Not to say that he was at the pinnacle of recognition and fame, but he was legally considered a good artisan among professionals. Artur Sergeevich Makarov was born on June 22, 1931 in an international family. Parents at that time lived in Leningrad. His father, German by nationality, worked as an accountant. The mother was engaged in housekeeping. They divorced literally six months after the birth of the child.
The younger sister of the mother, the popular actress Tamara Makarova, took the boy to her place. Her husband, no less famous director Sergei Gerasimov, agreed with this proposal. As a result of official procedures, Arthur received his aunt's surname and his uncle's patronymic. It should be noted that the boy did not experience material problems. He ate a balanced diet. He was well dressed - his adoptive parents were wealthy people. It is important to emphasize that they practically did not have time to raise a child.
At school, Arthur studied well, but there were not enough stars from the sky. His favorite subject was history and literature. In the apartment of the adoptive parents, many books accumulated, which the boy read everything in a row. He almost did not prepare for the lessons, since there was simply not enough time. All his free hours from school and reading books, Makarov spent on the street. Here, in the courtyards and gateways, his character was formed. He clearly learned that it is impossible to sneak or inform on anyone. The most important rule is to die yourself, and help your comrade out.
Already in high school, Makarov began to try his hand at being a writer. The themes for stories and essays were suggested by the surrounding reality. In one of the stories, the author described the story of how he was taught to play cards. The future writer and screenwriter lived in Bolshoy Karetny Lane. Arthur never forgot about the manners and rules of this lane and often inserted his memories into his works. In 1948, Makarov graduated from high school and tried to enter the screenwriting department of VGIK. He presented one of his stories to the creative competition. The commission found no reason to issue him a student card.
Literary creativity
Of course, Arthur had a hard time failing. But he began to give in to despondency for a long time and entered the Literary Institute. Receiving a specialized education, Makarov was systematically engaged in creativity. He not only wrote his own works, but was also actively involved in translations. This occupation made it possible to receive, albeit a small, but stable income. Three novels, several stories and plays were published in various publishing houses. In the mid-60s, two stories by the writer, "Home" and "On the Eve of Farewell", appeared on the pages of the magazine "New World".
In that chronological period, censorship in literature was harsh. Someone did not like these stories and Makarov was "closed" the opportunity to publish his works. In order not to lose the skill of literary work, the young writer began working on screenplays. Six months later, at the studio "Uzbekfilm" took for production the picture "Red Sands", written by Artur Makarov. The next project brought the screenwriter all-Union fame. People of the older generation remember the film "New Adventures of the Elusive" very well. Without any exaggeration, this picture was watched by the entire Soviet country.
The modern hermit
In the second half of the 60s, Artur Makarov felt tired and tired from the tense city life. After some hesitation, he moved permanently to a remote village in the Russian north. I quickly got used to the harsh climate and simple rules of survival. He lived in a house that was left for him by people who moved to the city. Here he fully felt the justice of the popular proverb - the house is not big, but he does not order to sit. I had to deal with the repair of the roof. Prepare firewood for the winter. Mow hay for a cow.
The writer discovered the talent of a breadwinner. He hunted both small game and large game. Several times "went" to the bear. In his free time from the master's affairs, he continued to engage in literary creativity. He wrote, as they say, on the table. Visiting Moscow periodically, he left his scripts at different film studios. He delivered his stories and stories to the editorial offices of "thick" magazines. He mainly wrote about village life. About the difficulties and joys of relationship with nature.
Personal life scenario
In the mid-70s, the movie "Coming" was released. This was the peak of the screenwriter's creativity. The main female role in the film was played by Zhanna Prokhorenko. During the filming, Arthur and Zhanna became close and began to live together. At the same time, the screenwriter did not divorce his first wife Lyudmila and regularly sent her money for life. Almost fifteen years unmarried husband and wife spent under one roof.
When perestroika began in the country, Arthur interrupted his writing career and decided to go into business thoroughly. In partnership with new and old acquaintances, he founded several companies. One firm was engaged in the production of nails with silver caps. Another furniture restoration. The third is the production of alcoholic beverages. The market situation was not stable and Makarov faced financial difficulties. In the fall of 1995, he was killed in his own apartment. The crime remained unsolved.
