Margarita Vasilyeva is a Russian biathlete. The Master of Sports of Russia is a champion and multiple winner of the national championship.
Margarita Andreevna was born and raised in an ordinary family. Gradually, the girl's hobby for sports turned into a professional career. Previously, she played for Transbaikalia. Currently, the biathlete is officially a representative of the Krasnoyarsk Territory, the "Biathlon Academy".
The path to victories
The biography of the athlete began in 1991. The child was born in the Chita region, in the urban-type settlement Novopavlovka, on June 5.
Since childhood, Rita Filippova has been involved in sports. She took part in school competitions and regional championships. Alexander Vasilyevich Kapustin drew attention to the promising girl. The coach invited the young athlete to study at the ski base and became the first mentor of the future champion.
He set a certain pace for Margarita. The girl learned to cope with strong physical loads, skillfully kept her speed throughout the distance, this is especially important on the last lap.
Kapustin sent the ward to a viewing camp in Chita to Lyudmila Pavlovna Panova. Rita won the control cross training immediately. The athlete began her studies with a new talented mentor. She was trained in shooting by Pavel Lantsov. The novice biathlete learned all the basics.
Rita started practicing her professionally chosen sport quite late, at 16. Already in 2011, Filippova confidently won the junior championship, brilliantly winning the individual race. In North Karelia, in the world championship held in Kontiolahti and the Eurotournament among juniors in Brezno in 2012, Margarita was among the participants.
Successes and failures
In the sprint, the girl won "bronze", showed the eighth result in pursuit. It was a success. In European competitions, the successes were more modest: Rita did not rise above 11th place. At a distance, an inexperienced athlete slowed down slightly, making a mistake. This was the reason for the failure.
In 2014-2015, the girl participated in the IBU Cup. Filippova became the champion of the country in the summer biathlon, showing the best result in 2015 in the sprint.
At the Obertilliahe stage, she took 21st place. Participation in various championships continued. In 2016, Margarita won the qualifying competition. The athlete went to the summer biathlon world championship in Otepää. Rita started only in the mixed relay.
At the national championship, Margarita showed the first result in 2017, winning gold. Repeatedly the athlete was among the prize-winners of the competitions.
In 2018, on April 4, the Russian Championship was held in Khaty-Mansiysk. The biathlete became the winner in the mass start, showed the second result in the pursuit and won bronze in the sprint. At the end of 2017-2018, Filippova climbed to first place and won the country's Cup.
In August, as part of the team in Nove Mesto, Rita climbed to the very top of the podium, becoming the first in the mixed relay at the world summer biathlon championship. Filippova trained as part of the Russian national team. Vitaly Noritsyn became her mentor in the 2018-2019 season.
Family and sports
The press knows little about Margarita's personal life: the athlete does not like to talk about this topic. Filippova and Vasiliev became husband and wife. Has changed. In early December 2018, Margarita, in an interview given by her to one of the famous sports publications, said that at the stage of the pursuit she felt that the race was becoming just crazy. It was the debut of a biathlete in the main national team. In the individual race, Rita was 42.
On December 8, she scored her first points for 13th place in the sprint. Then in the competition, the athlete got only 15th place in the standings. Margarita missed the only time.
Vasilyeva won the competition in Tyumen. She covered the distance with two penalties, covering the distance in 36 minutes 21.3 seconds.
