Alexander Rudolfovich Gruzdev was born on May 9, 1965 in Astrakhan. Now the actor lives in Moscow. He was married three times and has 6 children - 5 daughters and 1 son. Alexander was educated at the famous Shchukin Theater School, from where he was expelled for his characteristic hoarseness. He worked at the Drama Center, Ostankino and Mosfilm. His television career began with the Dolls show, where he worked as a parodist.

Alexander voiced iconic films and cartoons. For example, among his works is the 1999 drama The Green Mile, in which he gave voice to Brian Libby. He also worked on the 1997 melodrama Knockin 'on Heaven. In it, he voiced Hub Stapel. His characters include John Noble from The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King, Lawrence Makor from The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring, Andy Serkis from The Prestige.
