People of the older generation still remember those times when at family holidays and even at official celebrations the audience sang the song "There are so many golden lights on the streets of Saratov." It is rightfully considered a folk song, although the words of this song were written by the Soviet poet Nikolai Dorizo.
Childhood and youth
The generation of Soviet people, born in the first quarter of the twentieth century, faced severe trials. Having gone through battles and thunderstorms, they retained the warmth of their souls and a positive attitude towards others. Nikolai Konstantinovich Dorizo was a prominent representative of this tribe. The future poet was born on October 22, 1923 to an intelligent family. Parents lived in the famous city of Krasnodar. His father, a Greek by nationality, was engaged in law practice. Mother, a native Kuban Cossack, graduated from the conservatory and worked as a teacher at a music school.
The boy grew up and developed in a creative environment. Nikolai learned to put letters into words early. There was a good library in his home. He liked to read books with poetry. Kolya spent almost every summer in the village with his grandparents. The beauty of the surrounding nature attracted him and prompted him to write poetic lines. He studied well at school. Already in elementary school, he wrote poems and wrote them down in a separate notebook. The first time Nikolai Dorizo's poem was published in the city newspaper, when the boy was fifteen years old.
Creative way
In June 1941, Doriso received his matriculation certificate, and the next day, the war broke out. He was drafted into the ranks of the armed forces and appointed as a place of service for the Military Publishing House. After a short period of time, Nikolai filed a report with a request to transfer him to the staff of the front-line newspaper "Word of the Boytsa". Nikolai managed to bring reports from the front line and write poetry. In 1942 he wrote the poem "The Little Daughter", and the composer Rosa Goldina composed the music. A few days later, the song was played on the radio and became known on all fronts and in the rear.
After the Victory, Dorizo returned home and entered the Faculty of History and Philology of the University in Rostov-on-Don. His studies did not prevent him from doing literary work. In 1948, the first collection of poems entitled "On the native shores" was published. A few years later, Nikolai Konstantinovich entered the Literary Institute and moved to a permanent place of residence in Moscow. Collections of poems and poems by the talented author came out with enviable regularity. However, he became widely known as a songwriter. Suffice it to mention "On that highway" and "You can't hide from people in the village."
Recognition and privacy
Dorizo wrote not only poetry, but also dramatic works. He seriously studied the work of Alexander Sergeevich Pushkin. Nikolai Dorizo's work was appreciated at its true worth - he was awarded the Orders of the Red Banner of Labor and the Badge of Honor.
The poet's personal life took shape on the third attempt. After searches and disappointments, he met the actress of the operetta theater Vera Volskaya. Husband and wife have lived under the same roof for over forty years. The songwriter passed away in January 2011.
