But even a permanent residence permit does not give a citizen of another country all the rights - he cannot vote and be elected, hold a number of government positions, and so on. This problem can be solved by obtaining citizenship. How do you get it, for example, if you live in Japan?
It is necessary

- - marriage certificate of parents.
Instructions
Step 1
Check if you meet the requirements for future Japanese citizens. To apply, you must have lived in Japan continuously for more than five years and have had no legal problems during that time. You must also be able to prove your income.
Step 2
If you meet the requirements, prepare the required package of documents. Your parents' birth certificate and marriage certificate must be translated into Japanese. Also, your parents must provide written consent to change your citizenship, even if you are an adult and fully capable. Also prepare documents confirming that you work and have income, or the same documents. Proof of your spouse's income. If you additionally present papers on the ownership of real estate in Japan and the presence of significant funds in the bank account, this will be a plus for you.
Step 3
Submit the full package of documents to the citizenship department of the justice institution at your place of residence. At your first interview, you will be given citizenship application forms and will have a conversation with you about your goals for obtaining citizenship. You will also need to demonstrate knowledge of the Japanese language. Subsequently, you may also be called for a second interview.
Step 4
If your application is approved, a letter will be sent to your home with information about this.
Step 5
You are not eligible to obtain Japanese citizenship if you have any other. Therefore, you will have to renounce Russian citizenship. This can only be done if you have no unfulfilled obligations to the country. For example, draft-age men liable for military service cannot renounce Russian citizenship.
