The well-known Russian TV presenter, journalist and sports commentator - Dmitry Viktorovich Guberniev - has many professional awards, of which I would like to single out the Order of Friendship, the Order of Merit to the Fatherland, IV degree and the Teffi award. His manner of broadcasting sports and informing the country about thematic news has long been a benchmark. Interestingly, before becoming a commentator and TV presenter, he was able to reach the level of a master of sports in rowing. And his interests include vocals and television appearances as a host of various entertainment programs.

Never stop there
Never stop there

Dmitry Guberniev's professional and responsible approach to each broadcast has taught all viewers that any sports show with his participation will be accompanied not by dry comments, but by numerous facts from the life of athletes. Today, the journalist's professional portfolio also contains various entertainment and intellectual programs. Interestingly, his interests also include heavy heavy metal music. In 2013, Dmitry recorded the album "Wind of Biathlon", in which he performed as a songwriter.

Biography and career of Dmitry Viktorovich Guberniev

On October 6, 1974, the future famous TV presenter was born into the family of a glassmaker and pharmacist in Drezna near Moscow. From childhood, Dima showed interest in various sports, and from the age of eleven he began to seriously engage in rowing, in which he succeeded, having earned the title of master of sports.

After receiving a certificate of secondary education, Guberniev entered the Russian Academy of Physical Culture (coaching faculty), and later he expanded his specialization at the Institute for Advanced Training of Radio and Television Employees.

And the debut of his television career can be considered 1997, when he won the competition of the TVC channel, as a result of which he became the leading sports news column. And a year later, he was preparing reviews for the Champions League magazine and commenting on various matches on the Eurosport channel. In 2000, Dmitry Guberniev appeared on the Vesti program, and a little later on the Sport channel. It was during this period (2000-2005) that he started a cycle of author's programs: "Sport in a Week", "Biathlon with Dmitry Guberniev" and "Sports Week with Dmitry Guberniev".

The sports commentator and TV presenter will soon be seen in significant entertainment and intellectual programs: Fort Boyard, Who Wants to Become Maxim Galkin, Star Ice and New Year's Blue Lights. Everyone is well aware of his television work at the Olympic Games, in the program "It's funny." And in 2013 he began to occupy the position of editor-in-chief of the VGTRK sports channels.

In addition, Dmitry Guberniev noted his comments on the title song contest "Eurovision" (2016), when he drew parallels between music and sports. And the documentary film "My Soviet Childhood" became a real journey into the past era for numerous sports fans of the younger generation.

Another positive moment with the participation of Dmitry Viktorovich occurred in 2017 during the presentation of awards to biathletes at the world championship in Hochfilzen, Austria, when the organizers included the 2000 version instead of the modern anthem of Russia. It was Guberniev who picked up the microphone and sang it live together with the athletes.

However, the impeccable track record of the famous TV presenter still has flaws in the form of a series of scandalous stories related to statements about the football goalkeeper Vyacheslav Malofeev, the opening ceremony of the Olympic Games in Sochi, when the commentator confused the teams of Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Mongolia, Iceland, and the Dominican Republic. In addition, everyone remembers Guberniev's statements about the French biathlete Martin Fourcade and about the WADA sanctions measures.

And the cases of the scuffle with Pavel Rostovtsev - the coach of the country's women's biathlon team - and other representatives of the national sport in general deserve special attention, because only a true patriot of his Motherland can react so hotly to Russia's sports achievements.

Personal life of a TV presenter

Currently, Dmitry Guberniev has the family status "divorced". The former wife of the famous TV presenter Olga Bogoslovskaya (world champion in athletics) gave birth to a son, Mikhail, in 2002. Today, the father takes an active part in the upbringing of his child.

After breaking up with his ex-wife, Dmitry met his current love - interior decorator Elena Putintseva.
