It is not so easy for a talented person to find their destiny. In his youth, Alexander Kaidanovsky wanted to get the specialty of a welder. But he accidentally got into the classroom of a theater studio, which operated at a vocational school.
Starting conditions
One famous song says that it is much more difficult to steer yourself than a sailing ship. This sign was fully reflected in the fate of Alexander Leonidovich Kaidanovsky. The future actor and director was born on July 23, 1946 in an intelligent Soviet family. Parents at that time lived in the city of Rostov-on-Don. My father worked as an engineer at an engineering plant. Mother was engaged in staging children's performances in the city House of Pioneers. Sasha grew up as a proactive and energetic child. On the street and at school, he was considered an informal leader among his peers.
Quite unexpectedly for the teenager, the parents decided to leave. The boy stayed with his father. After graduating from the eighth grade, Kaidanovsky decided to live independently and entered a local vocational school to get a specialty as a welder. But after the first year I realized that working with metal did not appeal to him. Understood and entered the Rostov School of Arts in the directing department. After completing the course, Alexander decided that he needed to try his hand at the capital. In both word and deed - Kaidanovsky came to Moscow and entered the Shchukin Theater School.
Creative roads
After graduating from college, Kaidanovsky entered the service at the Vakhtangov Theater. After a while, he was overwhelmed by boredom, since the young and temperamental actor got supporting roles. He waved his hand and quit the theater troupe. And he was immediately drafted into the ranks of the armed forces. Serving as a professional actor dropped out in the cavalry regiment at "Mosfilm". It was here that the novice director Nikita Mikhalkov met him, who was preparing for the filming of the film "One among strangers, a stranger among his own." Kaidanovsky brilliantly played the role of Lieutenant Lemke on the screen.
After the release of the film, the actor began to be invited to a variety of projects. Legendary director Andrei Tarkovsky saw Kaidanovsky as the protagonist of his film "Stalker". After this success, the actor decided to try his hand at directing. The picture he shot is called "A Simple Death". She was honored with a special prize at the Spanish Festival. The time has come, and Kaidanovsky was invited to the position of a teacher at the school, which he graduated from. At the same time, he continued to act in the films "The Lost Expedition", "Ten Little Indians", "Breath of the Devil" and others.
Recognition and privacy
For his great contribution to the development of domestic cinema, Kaidanovsky was awarded the honorary title "Honored Artist of the Russian Federation".
The personal life of an actor and director cannot be called successful. He tried to start a family four times. He had three children in different marriages. Alexander Kaidanovsky died suddenly in December 1995 after a third heart attack.
